“good clean hotel in a good location with friendly staff”
Reviewed January 28, 2011

I stayed here with a friend in December last year. This hotel is from the same owners as Hotel Shahi Palace. Although we would have preferred to stay there (it was unfortunately fully booked), this was a good second option with the same standards. It is a new clean and quiet hotel with good rooms with (if you want) twin beds and at short walking distance of the old town/fort area without being in the crowd/noise of this part. Wifi is also possible. There is no restaurant so we used the rooftop terrace restaurant (with great views on the fort and good food) of Hotel Shahi Palace for breakfast, only a very short walk away. The owners are very friendly, cheerful and helpful. We booked or camel safari here and they helped us with arranging train tickets and flights. I can certainly recommend this hotel and also Shahi Palace which is a big bigger and looks more cheerful/decorated.

We spent 4 nights at Shahi Palace and I had a very nice stay. It’s a comfortable and quiet hotel designed with a haveli style. First of all, we book through the internet and we had pick up and drop off for free from the train station. In another hand, our room was just perfect: very well decorated with colourful curtains, great views, TV, AC, big bathroom and hot shower. In addition, every room has an electric kettle and free coffee, milk powder and sugar. Staff is very kind and they always have a smile for their customers, and of course they gave us soap, towels and toilet paper every time we required. Everything was very clean. The hotel has internet access through their computer or WIFI, so you can connect your laptop or phone from inside the room, with a nice system of payment with log in and log out. They arranged for us the camel safari and we highly recommend it. We had a great experience sleeping in dessert, riding camels and visiting typical villages. This is best place to enjoy Jaisalmer!

I got lucky to have a lightening quick trip to Jaisalmer last week and once again stayed in Hotel Oasis Haveli. Had a fantastic room with lots of natural light from the windows overlooking the fort. Did a fantastic yoga practice in my room.......
I will be back hopefully in January for a few days.
Stay here if you get the chance its beautifully decorated and quiet. Or star Haveli their other hotel 3 doors down the same little street.

This hotel is one of three buildings, strung intermittendly along Shiv Street. We liked the fact we were not in the main hotel, the Shahi Hotel, which is where the roof top restaurant is, and most of the action for booking camel trips, internet access etc. is. As a result our hotel was very quiet, and we had a lovely room looking at the fort. Lovely sandstone building materials and a big walk in shower. Our son, in a cheaper single had a nice room too,but no view. We had access to a roof top terrace, and staff would bring snacks and drinks from the main hotel. No restaurant service though, you had to walk 5minutes down the street to the Shahi, an interesting walk amid cows, open sewers and a slice of Indian life, certainly friendly and interesting- on pavestones, no dust.
We did have a small neighbourhood tip in front of our hotel so the free roaming animals came for breakfast and dinner, but the small boys gathered there as well to play cricket on the weekends and we ended up joining in. An altogether good place to stay especially if you want to experience a neighbourhood in an Indian city.

Through good planning we decided to spend from Christmas til the 2nd Jan 2010 in Jaisalmer staying in Oasis Haveli in the new roof top room. I had stayed there before and loved it. It was as good as I had remembered.
We had a lots of fun and festivities on the roof top of Shahi Palace hanging out around the fire meeting people.
The brothers who run this group of 3 haveli's did a great job of helping us enjoy the festive season in India. I wouldn't hesitate in going there again if I am in India for Christmas.
The roof tops from all the haveli's have incredible views of the fort.
I'll be visiting again - hopefully soon.
Check out Oasis Haveli for yourself you wont be disappointed.

As Sahi Palace was full therefore we got offered to stay at Oasis Haveli that we liked very much. Only 2 minutes walk from Sahi Palace with fewer rooms therefore much more quite. Well presented rooms with gorgeous decoration (sandstone sculptures). Excellent roof top terrace at both Sahi Palace and Oasis Haveli with views on the fort. Good breakfast. Staff was very friendly and picked us up from the train station at no additional cost. They also allowed us to stay in a room from 5am, after our train arrival, until our room was ready.

We stayed in Oasis haveli after Shahi palace told us it had no room left (actually it is the same owner) The hotel is new and almost an exact copy of Shahi palace.
Rooms are quiet, big and comfortable. The decoration is gorgeous (alcoves with sculptures imitating the ancient havelis) but many rooms do not have windows. A very good mid range hotel.
Service is correct. Free pick up at the bus stand (call Shahi palace for booking) Prices range from 400 to 1000 approximately (bargaining is recommended)
The restaurant on the rooftop in Shahi palace is charming at night.
