Deepak’s is a fantastic budget hotel which is located within Jaisalmer fort.

There is nothing bad to say about this hotel, we had a fantastic time there.

The rooftop restaurant was amazing, with good priced food which was always tasty. Staff here were polite and attentive. You also get great views from the restaurant over the town.

Rooms were large and had great furniture which added to the rustic feel of the place. Bathroom was small but clean.

Deepak can arrange buses and camel safari. We did the camel safari and camped out overnight. It was an amazing experience and highly recommended.

Few good things about the room are its location and price.
The rooms were nice, neat and large with city view. The food we had was one of the better food we ahd in Jaisalmer.

We were not pushed for anything and were provided a free pick up from station. Mr Deepak was helpful and polite and helped us with bus tickets as well at a nominal charge.

This place is located inside the fort so can be a bit tough to find if you haven't been to Jaisalmer before. The hotel does pick people up from the station thought, at a cost.

This is low budge accommodation and it is fantastic value for money in a great location. We had great views from our basic but clean room. The shower left a little to be desired but it really wasn't a big issue given all the positives of this place.

The owner and staff were really friendly and helpful and the food is amazing at the roof top restaurant, which also has great views. This place has such a relaxed feel, my partner and I spent plenty of time soaking up the sun and drinking cold beers here.

I think we paid about $9 per night and it was great value. It is the second time I've stayed at Deepak Rest House and I will return if I visit Jaisalmer again.

One piece of advice though, the afternoon camel safari the owner organised was rather expensive and not that great, you might find a better 'safari' at a cheaper rate elsewhere.

A really lovely place to stay, inside the Fort in Jaisalmer. We had an enormous room with interesting furniture and a brilliant view over the town. Bathroom was small but adequate. The hotel itself was a maze of corridors and rooms and uneven floors and levels which just added to its charm. Rooftop restaurant was spectacular - people who were staying at much more expensive hotels came to eat there - and the food was excellent and available all day as well as at regular meal times. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was free wi-fi in the reception area but not in the rooms or restaurant. We stayed as part of an Intrepid tour but the prices looked very reasonable and offered excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommended.

This was by far the cheapest and most budget choice of hotels for our 3 weeks in Rajasthan but it was one of our favourites. A rabbit warren of rooms set into the fort walls, just getting to your room is an adventure. While very simple, it was totally charming. The decor of the rooms is old carved beds and pretty bed covers and curtains. The room was carpeted which made a nice cosy change to the cold tile floors of Indian hotels. Our room was massive (room number 21) with a sitting area which opened up onto a private balcony with magical sunset views from the fort. The service was way beyond the expectations of such a budget hotel. And while power outages are the norm in the fort, we always had plenty of hot water (the best shower of the trip)

The roof top offers a restaurant with excellent food - both Indian and western, and stunning views.

Room Tip: Room 21 is massive with a private balcony with plenty of room to sit and enjoy a sunset view.

We went to this roof top restaurant looking for a break from the oily and rich food that's usually a norm in Rajasthan and were pleasantly surprised. We got to know of this restaurant from an artist who makes fine rajasthani paintings and he mentioned that we can even get Bengali food which was enough for us to give it a try. The rooftop restaurant is on the 4th floor and has a very modest but clean layout. Has seating arrangement both in the open and shade. Nice views of the desert and sunset etc. Here we met Deepak who is a very humble Bengali guy from Kolkata (Digha for those of you who know) running the hotel. We asked for less spicy bengali food and he made sure we got it. The food was gr8 and the service too. They have good rooms on offer too for the budget traveller. I would definitely recommend this if you are staying inside the fort and looking for a break to ease your stomach.

Room Tip: The food is strictly vegetarian. Continental is also served.

I have travelled extensively throughout many parts of the world and in various accommodations, Deepak Rest House has definitely topped the list of favourites. In regards to hospitality as soon as you arrive, to the stunning rooms, magnificent views looking over the whole city to the rooftop shenanigans and wonderful made to order food.
At night by choice I slept on the rooftop to watch the stars and listen to music playing from various parts of the town below. In the distance you can just make out the border of Afghanistan and sometimes spot a few troops.Roam the alleyways of Jaisalmer Fort to purchase beautiful hand made clothing, leather goods, food and listen to live music play. The sites, sounds, people, dress and food is what makes Indian culture incredible.

Deepak Rest House is something not to be missed, nor is Jaisalmer when visiting Rajasthan in India.

Room Tip: Room 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
