Our room was in one of the fort turrents and had a beautiful window seat overlooking the golden city. Amazing to stay right in such a key part of the fort walls. Very clean and the manager, from Tibet, was lovely and eager to ensure all our needs were met. Great breakfast.

I travelled to Jaisalmer on Feb 21,2012. I travlled with 15 months old son and wife. Given my son needs specific food, this place came out to be best in my entire Rajasthan trip. Kitchen served me milk for my child and customized food items for the child. Sureshji personally received us at railway station, advised rightly on local sightseeing, booked us a safari (which as he had warned was not really too great) and booked bus tickets for us. His boys at hotel are most obedient and helpful. Although food choice is limited, I liked the food very much as vegitables were procured fresh and cooked as per demand, I stayed for 2 days here and ate at this place only at all time on the terrace. Excellent view from hotel - Please look no further, go and stay in Rajmandir. I will come back for sure. You are a very good host Sureshji. Thanks. Ashish Harode (Pune).

Room Tip: Dont worry about view from room. entire terrace is yours as there are only 5 rooms so it is not crow...

Select this hotel especially for enjoying superb service given by Mr. Suresh (Owner) and his staff.

We stayed in Room No 3 (Overlooking the City) on the first floor. we had plan for only one day but now we wanted to stay more because of the service given and the food served from the owner's home.

Sure favorite and recommendation for any body going to jaisalmer.

I visited this hotel just couple of days back as recommended by a colleague. I stayed in Super-deluxe room on first floor, which has an excellent view of the city from its large window. They've limited kitchen but offer fresh homely food. I had breakfast and lunch there few times. The owner Suresh ji is a cooperative and resourceful person. He promptly arranged for television in room without any extra charges. Beds being a bit old are a bit noisy but have the traditional aesthetics as the other furniture in room.

Room Tip: Rooms on first floor have excellent view

We stayed with Suresh for a week, and then another week, and then another week. Our stay turned out to be just what we were looking for – a relaxed experience of one of the few remaining parts of Rajasthan still largely untouched by urbanisation and all that goes with it.

The hotel is on the walls of the Fort, approached by an internal side street with local shops and restaurants – much cleaner than the bazaar streets and much quieter than the hooting motorbikes (both of which took a bit of getting used to).

The rooftop terrace and restaurant has one of the very best outlooks, even attracting occasional morning coffee visitors from the out-of-town tourist hotels. The hotel has 3 good value standard rooms and 2 more expensive ‘super de luxe rooms’. An eat-all-you-can continental or Indian breakfast is included (eggs but no meat), although dinner is normally limited to vegetarian thali (albeit excellent) as the hotel is Brahmin.

Suresh personally supervises the hotel morning and evenings, and personally greets all guests, even in the taxi park below the walls. He also arranged a hire car to meet us at Jodhpur airport, 4 hours drive from Jaisalmer. Tuktuks can (just) reach the hotel with baggage, and are parked in the main fort square (main chowk) 3 minutes walk away.

We asked Suresh to arrange all our travel during our stay, which he did using his personal knowledge and contacts, all at published prices, with no hassles about going to places we didn’t want to go to. This included a four day desert circuit, to our own itinerary, in our own hire car and our own choice of hotels/guesthouses. When we finally left he arranged hotels in Jodhpur and Jaipur with hire cars and trains between them.

We booked the hotel by e-mail, from the website, which allowed fine tuning of our actual dates and extensions. The hotel does not accept credit cards, but there a number of ATMs within 15 minutes walking distance, or tuktuks know them (maximum one time withdrawal 10,000 rupees, up to your daily limit). For those looking for them, the hotel being vegetarian, there are 2 or 3 acceptable non-veg restaurants in the fort, and a number outside.

Our stay in the Rajmandir, over 3 weeks, was a highly personalised experience of India – local invitations, personal contacts with hotel staff, and friendly relations with the street scene once we became known.

Hotel Rajmandir inside the fort is a good place to stay. The rooftop where you can sit has an amazing view over Jaiselmer. We only had breakfast there so I can say nothing over the rest of the food. The breakfast was ok. I think the rooms are nothing special but clean and it is nice that you sleep inside the fort. It was just a bit noisy but after a while you can sleep well. The service was also good and he pick you also up at the train station. You should always book the camal safari by the hotel owner. It was so amazing. It was not full of tourists. We were only with our group (5 person) and they cook for us in the desert. It was so a nice evening.Dob´t go on the street to book this safari make it in the hotel. It is really good!
I think the hotel is a place where you can stay in Jaiselmer.

My Wife and I visited Rajmandir for three days from 18 to 20th Feb. 2012. The super deluxe rooms(two) give you a wonderful view of the sunrise and the city. Their terrace provides an amazing view. Imageine staying on the Ramparts of a fort built 700 years ago!. The propieter Shri Sureshji and his staff are extermely courteous and went out of their way to make us comfortable and feel at home. On our last day, on my request he treated us to his home cooked pomegranate kadhi and Khichadi which were delicious. Sureshji gave us valuable advise on places to go and visit and arranged transport and guides at very reasonable prices. We wish him and his staff all the best. (Nagesh Singh: Delhi)
