Fabulous haveli inside the fort!
We had three rooms: Rooms numbers 2, 5, 7.
Room 2 had a what they called a "magical window" overlooking the city. Truly majestic. We all sat there in the night, sipped tea and took in the sights.
The owner, Pankaj, is a great guy. Makes you feel at home and welcome. They really pamper you.
The showers had hot water, rooms were clean, food is lovely (only veg though).
The cook was always ready to provide anything we asked for. They made pancakes, poha , paranthas, sandwiches and coffee for breakfast.
The rooftop was amazing. We lounged around and basked in the sun all day and had our dinner there in the night. An old guy came in and gave us a taste of music from Rajasthan, and he was just great.
In short, they never said "no" to anything, which was just awesome.
Great repeat value.
Highly recommended!!
Only thing to watch out for:
- The bathroom in Room 2 is small, though I understand Pankaj's situation since this is an old haveli and even he too is helpless with regards to the design. He has tried to make it as comfortable as possible. It is clean but short on space.

Stayed for two nights in a standard room. Location is great and the rooftop is fantastic. The building is beautiful, my room was nothing spectacular but adequate. I spent most of my time on the roof. Its a very old building so it comes with the usual benefits and drawbacks of a conversion. The service was personal and friendly from start to finish.

My parents and I stayed here for 2 days in January. The hotel is a charming old haveli inside Sonar Killa, the rooms are beautifully decorated and the views from the terrace and most rooms is simply breath taking! Watching the sunset from the ramparts of the fort leaves an indelible impression. Room No. 2 is the best (and the most expensive) and Rooms 5 & 7 are every good too.
The service were exemplary and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Pankaj is a fantastic host and the warmth and courtesy with which we were treated by him and each member of the staff made the experience memorable! Will definitely stay here again. We traveled in Rajasthan for a fortnight and stayed at many heritage havelis and fine hotels but these guys were
simply the best! In fact, it kinda spoilt us for the rest of the tour :)

Room Tip: Room No. 2 is the best (and the most expensive) and Rooms 5 & 7 are excellent as well.

We stayed 2 nights at Victoria Hotel and we loved it. The house and the decoration are absolutely beautiful. All the staff are so helpful, we felt at home. The breakfast is delicious (especially the pancakes) and included in the price. There is hot water (after a few min) but the pressure was too low, we couldn't wash our hair. We really appreciated the heater in the room as nights were cold ... We booked a jeep safari for 1/2 day and we had a little problem (they arranged a car and not a jeep), but the problem was quickly solved and the owner even gave us a discount. So it didn't ruin our journey at all.

My wife and I were in Jaisalmer from 12th to 17th January 2013 and stayed at Hotel Victoria. The location of the hotel (inside the fort) was of course the biggest draw at the time of deciding on the hotel. On actually arriving at the hotel, we found the view from our room and also from the terrace was breathtaking. The staff at the hotel were very warm and helpful. Especially Sushil - the manager, who took care of our every need. The owner Mr. Pankaj Purohit also took care of us and the hospitality was excellent. It was a wonderful experience.

I wanted to fly kites - and they arranged to get the kites and we had good fun together flying kites for over an hour and a half. This was really great - especially as I had not flown a kite since I was a kid. Their attention to our every need/wish, really touched us.

We intend to visit Jaisalmer again, and we shall definitely be staying at Hotel Victoria only.

How could you not love staying in a little slice of history? The original house has been in the owners family for 27 generations. That's right. 800 or so years. This makes you feel a bit closer than a Hotel and more like a welcome guest in their house. It suited us down to the ground. We stayed here as a group of 6 for 4 nights and by the time we left we felt like good friends with the owner and staff. To add to the magical ambience, Hotel Victoria does not stinge on the perks of free mineral water, breakfasts (mmm banana pancake, endless chai and coffee) Dinner on the rooftop and some cold Kingfisher's can also be arranged if you feel like it.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, go for the rooms with a view outside the fort. It'll be worth it.
