Fifu is a kilometer away from the Fort & is located in a nice quite area (away from the hustle & bustle surrounding the fort). The Hotel is built in typical Rajathani style & the rooms too flaunt rajasthani architechture & design. Our room has a living room & a bedroom. Every room in Fifu carries a Color Theme, ours was Red so all furnishings were Red in Color. Our Room had awesome views of the Fort, which looks amazing at night. The Rooms are nice & give you a homely feel. The Bathrooms are OK & can be improved to match the Room quality.

The owners were very kind & made sure that we were comfortable at all times. Their personal attention to each guest makes the stay special. We were offered Masala Chai as welcome Drink & it was divine (one of the best masala teas I’ve had, a must try). The food quality is top notch & they modify it to suit every palette. The Omlette we had for Breakfast was super yummy.

However, we had an argument with one of the staff who yelled at us for no fault of ours. Upon asking the departure details of the Safari the owners told us that we should be ready by 2:15-2:30 & thats how we planned to take the fort tour & arrived at around 1:50PM. When we were about to get ready to depart for the Safari, one of the staff started yelling at us saying that we were late & that we hadn’t checked-out as yet. We had communicated that we shall be using the room until 2PM next day (that’s when the safari departs) & we had received a confirmation from the Hotel for the same. We were asked to leave the room immediately & leave for the safari, which was completely rude & uncalled for. The owners realized & apologized for this later but it just left a bad taste in the mouth.

The Desert Safari that they offered us was very average. It is outsourced to Pal Rajah Resort which is in Khuri. The Location of the Camp was fabulous amidst the Sand Dunes some 42 Kms away from Jaisalmer. Its quite & peaceful (unlike other Safaris in SAM). But, the Tents are very mediocre with basic facilities. They don’t have electricity between 12AM – 8AM which means you’re in pitch dark environment in the night. We had some issues with the Bathroom in the Tents. The Washbasin wasn’t functioning & there was no Hot Water.

The biggest issue at the camp is that no one communicates the details of the program. You are to fend for yourself. There is a Camel Ride upon Sunset & if we wouldn’t have gone ourselves to find out about, we would have missed it completely. They should keep an itinerary in the room or announce details on loudspeaker regularly. The Cultural Programme followed by Food was also very mediocre, as we have seen much better having visited various parts of the country.

Overall, I would recommend a Stay at Fifu but not the Safari.

Simply breathtaking view of the fort from the rooftop restaraunt. Rooms are individually desiogned and unique giving a wonderful experience. The food is some of the best vegetarian you can obtain and the service of the local staff and owner ( fluent in 4 languages ) is the best I have known.Forget the large hotels come here you will not be disappointed

We stayed for 3 nights in Fifu hotel last week. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated and have a beautiful view on the fort. The owners and other people that work in the hotel are very friendly and helpfull, so you really feel like home! The rooftop terrace is also very good, and they cook nice indian dishes and very good pancakes. I would definately recommend this hotel!

I stayed at fifu's during Diwali and was fortunate to be invited to join in some of the rituals. The staff are friendly and Fifu and Jitu who run both Fifu's and Jasmin haveli next door went out of their way to make me feel welcome and to show me their city.
The food is good and the rooftop restaurant has a great view of the fort and was a great spot to watch the fireworks during Diwali. I would highly recommend a stay here.

We arrived at Jaisalmer train station at 5.00am. A rickshaw was waiting to take us to hotel Fifu, as arranged. We got a room straight away ... went back to bed and slept for 5 hours. The rickshaw was not charged, nor the early arrival. Many hotels would have charged 1/2 a day.

The room was nice, clean and confortable.
The hotel has a nice roof terrasse with a wonderful view to Jaisalmer fort, where you can enjoy for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Hotel Fifu offers free rickshaw rides to the fort, the town or the station whenever required.

The nicest thing about the hotel though is the quality of service and the caring attention of Fifu, the owner.

Going back to Jaisalmer, I would certainly stay at Fifu's again !
