The hotel is highly unorganised in its approach. The double family room with fort view on higher floor did not exist! Instead we were given a deluxe room. The upkeep of the hotel is very poor. The service lacks professionalism. The hotel is best avoidable.

Room Tip: The hotel is an excellent property and has a history of Royal ownership. However be ready to accept...

We ended up here as we didn't like the hotel we were booked into. This was an old Palace that is being neglected. It could be beautiful. The back garden and pool is like an oasis, yet the other side gardens have been neglected. The wiring and plumbing is dodgy!!!
The rooms are large yet have seen better days. It would not take much to fix it up. Their restaurant felt like a dungeon.
We also had a problem on checkout. Their credit card system was not working and we didn't have
the cash to pay. They insisted we go to an ATM and we had a train to catch, so they were not helpful at all. The staff were surly.

Food quality is pathetic,
Wifi is only limited to reception,
Rooms need maintenance,
Not so friendly staff,
Reception stays un attended,
Nobody attends to calls,
Poolside is available for public so its difficult for hotel guest to avail this service with ease,
Overall cleanliness requires attention,
Poor Hospitality
Alot of bugs and mosquitos,

There are other beautiful hotels, resorts and desert camp...go for them.

We booked 3 nights in this hotel but had bad luck. First of all there had been bombings in town when we wanted to go here in May 2008. Despite a negative travel advise we anyhow wanted to go to this place, we had very high expectations. After our arrival we were very disappointed by a dirty room, and dirty swimming pool. The airco was very noisy and I was just not up to a especially the dirt in the room. The rooms looked very nice, but I just didn't get the wow-factor I got at most of the other hotels. We decided to book a hotel just outside the city center (also because for reasons of safety). Maybe we just had bad luck...

Recently we stayed at Hotel jawahar niwas palace between 8 Jan 2013 to 10 Jan 2013. The experience was great and memorable. It is really a very nice hotel to stay & enjoy. Superbly located, tastefully decorated rooms, wide space for parking, very beautifully designed restaurant and excellent service finally made me smile in Jaisalmer.

Rooms make you feel that you are living like a king. Prices are reasonable as well. The food was good, good ambiance and intimate dining. The decor inside the restaurant was outstanding. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. Hospitality and warmth of the hotel staff deserves a special mention because from the moment we arrived the staff was friendly, courteous and accommodating.

The hotel manager Mr. Dheeraj Purohit was fantastic and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. He made us feel like family from the start from arranging our camel safari and personally taking us there.

Although you have other star hotels in jaisalmer I would suggest staying here as you will get better value for money and same services as a 5 star hotel.
When I return to Jaisalmer next year, I will surely be staying here again. … One of the best hotels .This place is absolutely beautiful... It’s Highly Recommended!!!!

Room Tip: * Choose the pool facing rooms. They have an amazing view.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night. Had booked 2 rooms. Experience was mixed bag. Nothing special. At the price point we booked, we expected MUCH BETTER service.

Good
- Hotel has large rooms and overall good property

Bad
- Food and buffet spread is very ORDINARY. Have not seen any hotel at the price we booked offering such a poor array of dishes. Both lunch and breakfast was very, very ordinary.
We were offered dessert equal to 1/4th of a scoop when we asked about dessert in the buffet.
- Customer service was not good. We asked for extra towels and called 3 times but it was not delivered. Even apart from this instance, service was very ordinary.

Overall Dissappointed. Will recommend if you get a very good deal.
