The temples along the lake are beautiful, but what is truly stunning is the Thar desert that begins just where the stone steps around the lake come to an abrupt halt. We walked all around the lake on a cool afternoon, ambling past the temples and then making our way over the sand. We eventually came to a rippling inlet into the lake, crossed by a bund created with large boulders. It was a magical afternoon. This is a must-visit site.

Gadsisar lake has many beautiful buildings surrounding it, and it would be a romantic place to go for a night stroll. The lake was low at the time of visit. I'm sure it would be much more impressive if the lake was full. One of the better attractions in Jaisalmer.

A sight for sore eyes a bit of a relief from the city.they allow you to row out on your own if you are polite the architecture and buildings a round are a study..The erstwhile royals sponsored such structures to provide employment. It would be nice if the Govt did the same.
Its a bit crowded at the jetty but wonderful on the water, maybe I am partial but being on a boat does something to the kids and to the kids within.a must do in jodhpur.

Not something spectacular, but we enjoyed to walk around by the lake with a certain calmness and the refreshing view of water in an otherwise dessert covered city. Its also possible to rent a pedal boat and float around in the water.
