I stayed at this hotel in August 2013 and the hotel is very nice looking building at the entry of Jaisalmer, specially when you're driving in, and the yellow brown colour matches the city flavour.
The rooms are fine but the disappointing part is that there are very few tv channels. In today's time it is kind of basic requirement to have a cable connection. There should be both options of tissue and jet shower in bathroom.
The hotel pool is on the smaller side and water gets very dirty owing to dust in air so covering the pool in non operational hours is something the hotel must do.
Breakfast options are limited but considering that its a Gateway Hotel it doesn't seem awkward.
Rooms and hotel have a brilliant rajasthani feel to them and specially with the arti tikka welcome it gets better. Though arti tikka from an elderly guard could be replaced by a girl in rajasthani clothes.
Best thing in the hotel is the concierge/front desk. The information of sight seeing we got was immaculate and saved a lot of hassle for us. We even left a note for the concierge there. Its a pity I can't recollect his name but I think it was either vikram or vikrant but he was brilliant.
All in all one of the best options to stay in Jaisalmer. Definitely recommended. More
