“Best Hotel with worst staff & service”
Reviewed January 19, 2011

Fort Rajwada is nice hotel, beautiful decoration; nice interiors and you feel “royal” inside the hotel! But just make hotel staff disappear from your site and mind – then you won’t need any spa or relaxation method to get peace of mind. We stayed for 2 nights in their most expensive suite and we paid around INR 36000 (nearly $400 per night). After we finish all payments, exchanged greetings and completed all formalities - we were about to sit in the car – and they said, there is an opened water bottle in our room, so we have to pay INR 74 ($1.75)!!! The bottle would cost us INR 15 ($0.33) in the market – THEY ARE BIG CHEATERS! I feel pity on such a wonderful hotel managing under thugs.

the hotel is far from the town.the hotel will arrange a auto riksha for you to reach town at a charge of rs 100.while coming back you can take any auto riksha back for rs 70.
do not take taxis from the hotel as they will charge you double.there is a taxi stand in jaisalmer, ask any auto riksha to take you there and u can get a good average price for any taxi a/c or non a/c. contact mr mukesh for taxis .
being an indian u will not get good service as the hotel staff are more inclined towards foreighners.

We landed at the hotel in an emergency situation. After an aweful experience with another tented camp hotel that duped us, we walked in, and instead of being handed the tariff card we were asked all sorts of questions about where we came from, why etc and how long we intended to stay.
Based on this information, the desk manager went into the office and came out with a rate for the room. it was very pricey and definatel not a 5 star hotel.
Held at ransom we had to agree.
the buffet dinner at Rs. 875 plus taxes per head (almost Rs. 1000) was terrible. The food was too salty or too spicy, the pasta was watery.

The room was ok, comfortable and clean but somehow very cold.
Even with the AC and fan off it was icy. there were no open windows or spaces under the door. The heater was an ages old piece which made noises so ghastly that we had to switch it off. Tthe service was a little slow.

My uncle had reccomended this hotel "This is the House of the Popular Indian TV Soap - Balika Vadhu". I decided to check it out on my trip to Jaisalmer.

It was Just a few minutes from the Railway Station. Sorry could not find any flights to Jaisalmer. Upon reaching the Gate, one could feel that how a prince would live in his palace.

The hotel is designed to give you a feel of a palace in Rajasthan. The rooms are good, cosy, elegant and give you a charm when you get in.

Try it on your next trip to Jaisalmer. It actually feels royale. Please get your bookings in advance. The hotel seldom has empty rooms, cheers.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Fort Rajwada touted as a premium hotel in Jaisalmer. Booked a 3 night package (2 nights @ hotel and 1 @ desert camp). The package is as disconnected as they get. You are told that your check-out time on Day 2 is 12 Noon and you have to report to the desert camp site on your own at 4 PM. Hello! What do you do without a room between 12-4. The staff would not give us a late check-out inspite of repeated requests. The rooms are OK but thats only part of the story for any traveler. We travel more than most people and this will go in our travel book as one of the worst hotels that we stayed in, not because the rooms were unclean (they were pretty OK as a matter of fact) or the resort was terrible but because of the staff who refuses to even acknowledge your presence and are as unresponsive as they come. Don't know what they are thinking???

We visited recently Jaisalmer and stayed in this beautiful hotel where original balconies with intricate carvings and jalis as old as 450 years adorned the walls of the grand lobby of the Hotel. The rooms were spacious and reflects Rajasthani architecture and paintings on the wall. I really liked the swimming pool and the sprawling exteriors. The roof has a great ambienceand the Fort view open air restaurent was majestic. The staffs were polite and huble. In sum, an unforgottable experience.

I booked this hotel from the recommendation of my Travel Agent and it turned out to be a very good hotel. The hotel has been built like a fort. So Good ambience and a relaxing place to stay. Value for money.
