“Architectural Splendour”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

The hotel architecture and interiors are a joy to behold. Lot of care and attention have gone into the design aspects. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable but sadly no room service. The restaurant serves authentic Rajasthani food and we enjoyed our lunch and dinner.
Besides lack of room service, other crib is lack of hot water in bathrooms. The water was lukewarm and not hot!
Overall, a very good experience.

Dear Mr Ulhas ji,

First of all will like to thank you for words of appreciation for our hotel and team members which has boosted our team to work more on same line. you have said it was sad for that we do not offer room service, it is true but we give partial room service to old persons/ privileged persons/ pregnant lady/kids(milk etc) and real reason for not having room service is the distance between kitchen and rooms make food items almost cold which has more chances of complaints. We will look into the matter of hot water which should not happen.

Looking forward for your next visit and stay with us,

Regards

The hotel manager is an extremely nice person, the property is well made but the housekeeping and the rooms are a very BIG disappointment. We were to stay here for 3 nights but left after 2 nights. They gave us a room with a faulty AC a fact which the team was aware of and finally changed it midnight when my family was asleep, but were kind to allow us to move the luggage the next day. The food is not upto the mark and if you dont have the same included in the package a plate of 6 onion slices can cost Rs.100 + taxes, unbelievable as it may sound but this is not because of the government but the greediness of the management. The food and drinks are extremely expensive considering the place and when we stayed there we saw that the guests were allowed to jump in the pool with all their clothes and without even taking a shower. When inquired on their standard practice the gentleman was blank, our experience at this hotel was quite bad. Weigh your options before you book.

Dear Mr Rusit,

First of all will like to thank you for choosing Desert Tulip for your stay in Jaisalmer and word of appreciation for the building. we will like to draw your attention that every coin has 2 faces as such requested not to write one sided story and let me complete the other side. the moment you came here you started to ask for :-

1.Complimentary pickup and drop from Railway Staion and early check in was given.
2. Lunch of 8 adults + 3 kids to be included in your package without any additional cost, which was denied from our end.
3. You started to tell their is nothing to do in Jaisalmer for 03 nights and it was your choice on day one so you can not tell that you decided to leave on 3rd day.
3.Technical fault in any electric/ electronic items are not in our hand.
4. Prices are as per our menu and hopefully least priced in whole of Jaisalmer and no one has forced you to have the onion salad without your intention.
5. You have written here that after having Dinner in sand dune on 2nd day you came to our Restaurant and asked for the Dinner to served even after our Restaurant timing was over, my staff served you dinner and Khichdi was not charged on your request.
5. If the management had greediness would have not offered you 20% discount on your package.
6. Yes we do agree some Indian ladies jumped in the pool but moment our staff noticed same were requested to come out of the pool and asked to have proper attire for the same.

It is our humble request that do not tarnish the image of any of the hotel you stay which can not fulfill your greediness.

Thanks & Regards

We stayed for two days in Diwali time and enjoyed a lot like staying in a Royal Palace. The staff and services are very good and very courtious. The Hotel has everyday entertainment programme. The hotel is very new one but worth experiencing. The young MD of the hotel is very friendly and of very helpful nature.Location of the hotel is also not far from the tourist spots of Jaisalmer. The Hotel had organised good fire cracking programme on Diwali day. My entire family enjoyed a lot and children also took the good experience of swimming pool which is very clean.

about 4km outside of the old fort of jaisalmer. relatively new built hotel, with a nice distance view to the old city.
a quiet location, nice pool, friendly service. food at good india standard. the last 3 comments about bad food were strange. we had a good experience regarding dinner and breakfast.
service is sometimes a bit reduced, but allways very friendly und forthcoming. they cater also to bus-tours, for dinner and breakfast the timing might be sometimes essential if you travel by yourself. very good and fast WiFi throughout the hotel, free of charge.

This hotel is beautiful, sadly the quality offered inside is awful.
The waiters were more interested in watching TV that serving their customers, the food was terrible. In the morning the restaurant was still dirty from the evening before, the breakfast buffet was cold and not edible. Our TV wasn't working, it took several hours to get this sorted and the person who fixed the problem left a mess in the room. The exchange rate offered was the worst given on my almost 3 week holiday.
This beautiful hotel has so much potential, maybe new management is needed.
