“Clean, friendly, quiet. Great staff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2014

This hotel is just a short walk from the main city, into a very quiet section of Jaisalmer. The staff people are very helpful, kind, and friendly, and the room was very clean. They even made me a special Indian breakfast! I would recommend this place to anyone, and would stay here again if I come back to Jaisalmer.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I like the look of the place! For good slepp, relax and good service and I would have several options available, and it was very close to the Jaisalmer fort as well. A 10 minute walk away to Jaisalmer fort and 2 minute walk away to the sunset point ( extra beautiful point ) which was great as well. The staff was very helpful. When I booked, I immediately received an email with instructions on how to reach the hotel, I thought that was very considerate and helpful of them. Also loved that they provided free picking up me from bus station to hotel and from hotel to railway station. I will stay here again the next time I'm in Jaisalmer India.

Dear Dome111

It’s very kind of you to take time to write us feedback. We are happy to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. We provide free pick up and drop off service specialy for our guest for your convenience and also to avoid being misguided by trouts on the bus/train. The business competition in Jaisalmer is very high and they always trying to take our guests somewhere else even they already had booking with us. When you've made it here then you would be glad that you've made the right choice.
You're happy staying here and leaved our hotel with a smile. Mission accomplished !..Thank you again for choosing Hotel Sanjay Villas.

I was collected from the train station, 15 minute journey from the station. Friendly welcome and very helpful, obliging staff. As a female, backpacking alone, it is not very good for meeting other travellers, but this did not matter as I met people on the camel safari. The rooftop restaurant is extremely nice and the food lovely. It's a short tuk tuk ride from the jaisalmer fort, but is peaceful at night time. The staff definitely make this hotel a nice place to stay.

Good one at Jaisalmer for budget travellers ( Jaisalmer hotels can be very very expensive in December and January ) at very affordable rates . Hotel is in a quite residential area . Small joint with about a dozen rooms . Neat and Clean rooms/toilets/linen . The owner come manager Udai is a cheerful and helpful fellow who also arranges local tours/ SAM excursion , the staff are also very helpful and humble and provides all possible helps / support within their limited means to make the stay as comfortable as possible . Rooms have all basic needs including small TVs ( with good channel spread compared to even star category hotels in Jaipur and Jodhpur ) . Like almost all budget hotels in Jaisalmer they donot have room heaters ( so beware those who cannot survive without it during winter !! ) but they provide adequate quilts/blanket etc to beat bitter cold . No problem with hot water though , which is available 24 hrs.
They have a roof top canteen where one can enjoy good food ( of home cooked type ) in open roof top ( which can be quite cold in this time of the year specially for dinner ) which is an experience by itself .
Lastly one can enjoy amazing late afternoon/sunset view of the fort and chatri from their rooftop .

Room Tip: first floor front facing

Thank you for your comments. We're really happy that you enjoyed your stay with us because we have tried our best to make this a better hotel. Your comments means so much, we are really appreciated it. Yes "budget hotel" doesn't mean the service is limited. We provide full service as many 4-5 stars do and as possible as we can in that period of time.Thank you once again for choosing our hotel!

We were given accommodation in this hotel by our tour organizer. Located is not at all good and the hotel is situated at the end point of Jaisalmer. When we reached there was not a single guest at the hotel and the staff there was no staff, just a couple of boys in civil dress. The person sitting at the reception was wearing a lungi with an informal shirt. There is no provision of hot running water as mentioned in their website. The TV's are 14 inch in size and rooms are very small. Since there were a couple of ladies as well with us, we immediately checked out of this hotel as the location did not seem safe at all.

We are the new team who running Hotel Sanjay Villas now.You were here before we moved in.I don't know what made you get that impression about this hotel. Yes the location is a bit out of the city but that's why it's really calm and peaceful and it's perfectly safe for any female traveler. Yes the hotel is not full everyday, you might be the only guest/room here but then you would get 100% service from us! We use boiler system in the hotel which starting running every morning. If you happen to need hot water during the day, you can tell us.The TV's are 14 inch in size ..YES but the room is not small compared to other hotels in the price you're paying. Anyway Hotel Sanjay Villas is NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT and we are trying our best to give you na better service and make this a better hotel!
