We really enjoyed our stay here and that was down to the great service provided by the owner Ashraf and the rest of the hotel staff. The hotel is really well located and has a great chef, the mutton curry was a winner. The rooms were undergoing renovation while we were there but will be great when they are finished, and the one we had an awesome view of the fort. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Jaisalmer and would stay there again. There was also no pressure to do any kind of trips, which seemed in contrast to other places in the town.

Mystic Jaisalmer is an Oasis in the desert. Ashraf and the boys were warm, welcoming and very accommodating. Our room was beautiful and clean, the rooftop terrace was a great place to chill out, the food was the best we've had in India, and the camel trek was a unique experience! All in all a highly recommended place to stay!

I stayed from 8 to 11 Oct 2012. When I arrived, the place was not quite ready since they were undergoing an extensive renovations. There was only a couple staying there besides me. Immediately, Sokat, the assistant manager and the boys made me feel comfortable despite lacking essential amenities. He explained how this new place will have metamorphosed in the months to come. The owner, Ashraf arrived from Europe the following day and he said he had picked up many ideas for the hotel from Amsterdam (city known for smaller personalised family-run hotels). I was able to visualise his plans and I was assured that this new place will have some qualities of a three or perhaps even a four star hotel despite being given previously a two star rating. He will retain the backpackers area as this is how this place was known. That is good especially for budget-minded travellers. Ashraf has a very amiable and comforting way of treating his clients and staff. He has no condescending attitude in the way he gets his staff do their chores. I have observed this since he arrived and all I can say is that he will be able to win many clients.
On the negative (constructive if you will), the safari tour result was not to my expectation given the price I paid. I have no idea if this is due to the tour providers' shortcomings or due to the fact that the tour lineup has not been properly organised yet. They can certainly make some improvements here. Ashraf are you listening? Hopefully, all the amenities will be in place in time for the coming high season. Thanks very much to all and good luck to Ashraf and the boys of Mystic!
Best regards,
Willy Trinidad

My friend and I arrived to India in may 2012 and was traveling around for 3 weeks.
To be honest india is not really my thing. The men was creapy, i could not be me, and it is something you have to get use to.
But behind all this, there are wonderful places, and wonderful People. (Ashraf is one of them)
We arrived to Jaisalmer very late one night, and dident had anything to eat all day. But as the Gentle man Ashraf is, he took us out for dinner. The Hotel was under rekunstruction and that is why there was a little dirty, but who cares when the service is on top. I can really not say anything bad about this hotel, cause they did anything to please us. They went with us on camel safari, a man went shopping with us and we just hang out as friends.
THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY IN JAISALMER
Ashraf is the king of India :-)
