This little boutique budget hotel inside the old fort is one of my most favorite hotels in the entire India. This hotel was perfect in every way! The surrounds of the hotel, the facilities and the staff were exceptional - the stand out was the service, every single staff member was so attentive to our every need and took time out to talk to us. The room was wonderful, the food incredible
The best part about deep mahal members is that you never hear 'No' for an answer to your wish. If I ever go to India again, I will defiantly come back!!
We did also two night camel safari with deep mahal and it was exactly as described. Deep mahal and his team looked after us like we were family. Camel-riding it is very much fun, it’s great to see the dessert and sand dunes. Sleeping under the stars, gazing up at the Milky Way and shooting stars. Waking up to sunrises over the dunes is magical. We saw most meals being prepared and they always used bottled water for cooking and always had lots of mineral water to drink. You will never go thirsty!
“Atithi Devo Bhav”...it’s completely suites on deep mahal safari . The camel driver treats the guest like God. It’s the people and their attention to the guests that makes this a most enjoyable experience
You will get Royal personalized hospitality in every part of safari. Some tourist think The tour is little expensive than other organizers, but I thought it was worth every penny[Not to be missed! ] due to the service quality, small groups they take, the good care they take of the camels and the environment, the excellent guides with great English and - if you're a female solo traveler - you'll feel absolutely safe.

The guys running this operation are very friendly and honest and they run a first rate service. If you want to do a camel safari in Jaisalmer, which I recommend doing, this is the one to go for.

Room Tip: Higher Floors have less A/c unit noise..!!!

A friend found it on the net when we were in Jodhpur and we were amazed at how cheap it was, considering what it was offering. So immediately we thought there must be a catch. But there wasn't.

We were met off the train at 5am and driven to the hotel. The staff were immediately welcoming and the charming owner said to get some rest and we'll chat later on.

A few hours later I got up and was offered a welcome cup of chai - which was amazing too!

The room was great - a double, with it's own bathroom, very clean and very cheap.
The place is very laid back. The staff can cook food if you want it or you can bring your own ingredients in and use the kitchen. They also show films on a projector some nights on the rooftop.

We booked a camel safari trip through them as well and stayed out on the dunes at night under the stars. What a great experience.

All-in-all it was a shame to leave, but all good things...

we chose the hotel as we saw some pictures which were not showing things as they are.rooms are missing a wardrobe, the bathroom was NOT CLEAN and has not been cleaned for ages, the bed was un unconfortable and with no matress!a/c was not working and there were about 45 degrees outside.
also,if you wish to go for a camel safar DO ASK other places,as the staff of Deep Mahal wil try to sell their safari before you leave and have the chance to check for other prices!we paid 2000 rupies PER DAY EACH person, while other agencies asked 750 for the SAME safari. Also, the food was AWFUL and was cooked in filthy pans which were cleaned with sand after being used! We were told it would have been a group of 5 people but it was just the 2 of us,they let us sleep on the dunes with ONE blanket and filthy pillows they were using to cover camels...it was so cold we couldn't sleep.no story tellers/no dancers as promised...also no forks to eat!it was full of wild dogs and huge insects walking on our bodies and nobody took care of us. we were told they would have taken us to see some interesting places, but we saw NONE.the only place we stopped at was a "gipsy village"were there was absolutely ANYTHING interesting!
we were told all the time to say to people the safari was amazing and all this crap,in order to convince other guests to choose Deep Mahal for their safari...and i think this is so unfare,as you're cheating on other people!
also, for all the time of our stay we had a bad feeling about staff, always askin why we had no dinner/breakfast at their "roof top restaurant" and why we did not give them our loundry...which was none of their business!

Arrive to hotel after free pickup. John, who talked with an english and french accent (?) and seemed fairly friendly. "Oh pay what you like. 300, 500. Whatever is good for you." We go down to our passports and yogi just start bringing out the camel safari books as if that is part of check-in. We said we were going to grab something to eat. He said just listen, it won't take long. Then you caneat upstairs. Thanks for planning our next 30 minutes but no thanks. After a terrible, awkward couple days of avoiding their painful camel safari talk, we checked out. John then said you id promised to pay some amount. This was obviously untrue. Funny how he was kind and then vicious after we left without safariing. Just a bunch of sketchy. Had a friend from jaisalmer laugh when he heard we stayed at deep Mahal. "Mafia Hotel" was the word used...

The hotel deep mahal is most beautiful budget property in jaisalmer . With the known ingredients: nice beautiful rooms, perfect service and good ambiance. The whole ambience takes you to a different experience. Stayed in the spacious palace rooms with a lovely balcony are so amazing and so is the bathroom. and fabulous decor. Everything from the decor, the beautiful carving wall, the block printing doorways etc make you appreciate the aesthetic sense of the desert city jaisalmer.

The camel safari is one of the most beautiful experienced on our trip in India. We found lots of special little features during our trip in desert. the service by camel driver of deep mahal was excellent, was truly impressed by the personal care and every minute attention given by the staff in the middle of nowhere [desert].

Like other tourist wrought about deep mahal camel safari pricey, it not acceptable because they not been with them. As I m group leader I did camel safari with many company with different price but Being a good quality and best service it is obviously little more money that deep mahal safari well worth every bit of it! Also they have cheaper option as well which I have heard around 650 to 950 for 1 day is also good. And the food is great. Just perfect. Myadvice close ur eyes and try with deep mahal which is heighlly recmonded by many travelers.

This Guest House in the Fort is right next door to the Jain Temple complex with one of the rooms even sharing a common wall. Despite its proximity to the temple it is a very quiet location and the rooms have been maintained in their original ‘Haveli’ style and haven’t been smothered in various pastel colours like a lot of other Haveli properties.

Johnny is the young guy who showed me around, and was most helpful in negotiating a Camel Safari for later in my visit. He even arranged for me to visit his home Village about 25 Kms from Jaisalmer which was a fascinating insight into local Village life. Fatan looks after the restaurant on the Guesthouse rooftop and turns out some amazing locally inspired meals as well as the usual Western favourites. He is ably assisted by Sumar, a young boy from the same Village as Fatan and Johnny, and makes great chai and pours a cold, cold beer.

There are only a few rooms, so the guesthouse is a very quiet and personable oasis in the middle of the Fort. Nothing was too much trouble for all these guys, and they made me feel more like a member of their extended family than just a paying guest.
