The hotel is very good for the service... and the smile.
The camel safari was so nice... we have enjoy a lot with my wife... Also I was sick for 3 days and all the staff took care of me as one of their own.
I really recommand this place.

so neat place to visit. first of all, you may be amazed by so kind and friendly manager, Amin(well, he said he's not a manager, but #2:p).

i used a double at 200rs, although it was a shared restroom, the room was quite clean and i could use free wifi(around 100~200kbs, not that slow) even in my own room!!

if you are up in thevrestaurant, you can see both jaisalmer fort and sunset so clearly! surely, no matter have to say on the taste. you can enjoy fine and nice jaisalmer dishes with so friendly staffs. i tried special thali(200rs) and normal thali, i was just awesome:)!

the next day i arrived, i took a carmel safari(you should ask to the owner). before i took it, i went to two temples on the way to the carmel safari. those were also beautiful, but if you want to get into them, you should pay entrance fee(as i remember, 100rs for each, not included in the safari fee). after that, i started riding a carmel. there wereno stirrups, so you may feel a little bit afraid and hurt on your thigh and as*. but during the riding, i saw gazels, a desert fox, so many lizards, and interesting bugs which eat cattle dung(you may see on docus such as national geographics, but actually, they eat carmel dung:p). so those are amazing enough to forget my hurts(with a little bit of exaggerations:p). after 2 hours ride, i took a rest under the tree shadow and had a lunch there. after 4:30 i rided again after the land cooled a little bit. and then i rided another 3 hours ride, i arrived at a sand dune, and spend a night there. sunset and sunrise was quite impressive, but i was a little bit afraid that it was full moon, so i could see the stars well:p and it's quite chilly in night, although i stayed in summer, august.

oh, if you feel boring during carmel safari, then you can ask to the guide, Delboy(i'm not sure of the spells) that you need singing(rajastan style), dancing, carmel crying, chicken crying and cow crying(but not to ask him of carmel tandoori, he's so sensitive to that subject:p)! he's also so friendly and funny, you should meet him!

i'll never miss the good memories i got in here, hotel renuka. i recommend you strongly to stay here. it takes around 15 minutes to the entrance of jaisalmer fort, and quite near to the bazaar. if you think people is the most valuable thing in hostel, i swear hotel renuka is the right place you should stay!

Clean rooms, great location and price! The whole staff is super friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful and answer questions. I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Jaisalmer.

Sunny the manager, restaurant staff are nice. Food is good here BUT as soon as we booked out camel trip elsewhere the smiley helpful owner transformed into mister unhelpful. Wouldnt allow us leave out bags even tho we returning after camel trip for two nights. Bathroom had no mosquito net or curtain so people passing could look in at the bathroom or you in the shower. Pillow was 100% used by other before us, had to pay extra for toilet paper. Check out is 9am which is super early if getting night train late in night.

HotelRenuka, Manager at Renuka Hotel, responded to this review, August 1, 2013
Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take them seriously.

You arrived on the 28th July around 11.30 AM (We gave you free pick-up from the train station to our Hotel) and when you came to reception after showering, breakfast, and filling out the forms that time, I (Sunny) helped you and you asked me about our desert tours. I explained to you all the options, I did not pressure you to book the desert tour with Renuka.

Next Day (29th July) morning around 8 AM, you checked out room that time I was not on the reception. My younger brother helped you. You requested to keep your luggage in our Luggage Room and in very polite way he said that "Please keep luggage in the place where you have booked your desert tour because this is their responsibility."

Then you said we are coming back to stay with you next day for one night, but you want to check-out room at 12 noon on the following day. My brother replied "Our check-out time is 9 AM but you can check-out at 10 AM or 10.30 AM and keep luggage in our Luggage Room and use our toilet and shower as well. No problem. Otherwise you can check-out at 10 PM and pay the half-day price of the room." I think that was fair enough because we have many guests arrive in morning before 11 AM, so we have to prepare our all rooms before that.

Sunny + Staff + The Family all are always Friendly + Smiley + Helpful and We will be forever! We realize that we can't please everyone all the time , But We try our Best...!!. Once again thank you for your concerns and We all Wish you all the Best.
Regards,
Sunny + Family

Friendly hotel in a great location in Jaisalmer.

Call in advance and they will arrange free pick up from the bus and rail stations.

Clean rooms, fast wifi and friendly, helpful owners who also own the Hotel Ratan Palace.

They provided lots of information on camel safaris but we didn't feel under any pressure to take one. We stayed four days without doing a safari and were very happy at Hotel Renuka.

Note that we were approached by touts from Hotel Jaisal View at the station who tried to convince us to stay at their hotel instead, offering very cheap prices. Don't stay there, they are well known for scamming tourists.

Hotel renuka is a very good, affordable hotel in Jaisalmer, perfect for the backpacker/bugdet-traveller. The rooms were simple but nice and clean and the rooftop restaurant served great vegetarian food and had a beautiful view over jaisalmer fort. We booked our camelsafari trough the hotel and had a really great experience! Best thing about this place was the staff, they were extremely helpful and dedicated. I would recommend this place!

Very clear rooms and quiet atmosphere. The view of castle and town from the roof top is very nice. Especially enjoyed looking over stars on the roof top in the night time.

Cost performance is also good, inconsidering the quality of rooms and staffs.

The staffs are very kind and consulted with me how I can get bus ticket or train ticket and so on. Also the young boys working there are funny and kind so we talked a lot in the free space of 3rd floor. Good experience and memories.
