“Genuine and Honest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2012

With just under 8 Months of backpacking all over india under my belt, iv had more than my fair share of good and bad experiences.
Heading to Jaisalmer for the first time, i didn't know what to expect and picking the Haveli Hotel pretty much at random, i could only cross my fingers and hope for the best... which is exactly what we got.

Issack was one of the most helpful, honest people iv met in india and accommodated all of our needs and more.
Instead of listing the positives about our stay here, i feel more than confident simply saying when you are under Issacks care at his Hotel, you don't have to worry about much else.

I spent about a week here and it had been those wonderful days, i love to remember :) It is very nice hotel with friendly stuff, relaxing atmosphere, great owner, and great location. The hotel is very close to a beautiful and calming lake, only 5 minutes from the Fort and has easy access from the railway station. I could really have a rest here after my frequent and sometimes stressful trips and get ready to new adventures. The owner is very helpful with advises around the city, and also can give deep introduction into local culture and life what I am very interested in. I recommend to stay here as it has good price and atmosphere.

Hi, This side Raja Tanwar from American Express Business Travel.

I can’t understand on what grounds people have rated this hotel with “Very Good” and “Excellent” comments.
According to me this is one of the worst hotel I have ever stayed with. I earlier booked Deluxe AC room but after looking the condition of rooms, I preferred to change it and upgraded myself to Suite with more charges. I stayed here on 8th Apr’2012 but this too doesn’t solve my purpose. One of the WORST, suite room in my career. Details below –

1. Out of two fans one was not working.
2. Mirror missing from dressing table.
3. No glass on table and nails on table were rusted and dirty.
4. No curtains on bathroom windows and transparent glass (One can view from outside, managed by putting towel on window).
5. While taking shower, water comes out from bathroom to your room.
6. Poor restaurant (You need to make IMMEDIATE payment of your order once it gets delivered to your room, you cannot settle it later on at the time of check out).
7. Worst hotel staff and not co-operative at all (I asked for cold-water but normal water was delivered).
8. TORN bed sheets were offered for extra bed (On complaining, they said this is only what they are having).
9. Phone were not working so have to go down again and again.
10. Costly food at Restaurant.
11. After check-out my 2yr old daughter want to go for toilet. No separate toilet for guests/visitor. On urging hotel boy opened vacant room for toilet but charged Rs 20/- for this. Really unacceptable.
12. Costly SAM (Sand Dunes) / City tours offered by this hotel.
(a) Travel to SAM and back (Non AC) + Camel ride – Rs 900/- but same was offered was local person for Rs 400/-
(b) Travel to SAM and back (Non AC) + Camel Ride + Traditional Dance performances + Dinner – Rs 1450/- and same was offered by locals at Rs 750/-
13. Worst surrounding (Auto repair workshop just outside hotel and pigs/open drain nearby).

I would request you all please DO NOT GO for such poor and worst hotel and service.

I arranged my travel in (Non AC Bolero) – (Sand Dunes + Camel Ride + Sunset + Traditional Dance + Dinner + In between village trip) with the help of my dad’s friend for approx Rs 500/
Also car driver advised me for sightseeing, I should hire an auto and it will cost me not more than Rs 300 – 350 for whole Jaisalmer trip ( Fort + 3 Haveli’s + Gadisagar Lake + Museum ).

Pls contact Mr Hayat – 09414365502 for good and cheaper travel to Sam (Sand dunes) and local sightseeing.

This was a really nice hotel for the price i was excepting the worst after being in some what i like to refer to as seedy places in india but this place was clean and staff friendly. if you also have a chance to eat at the roof top restaurant the food was supper good compared to some of the other more expensive places i ate at in the area. i should also note the owner has infite knowledge on the area and is more then happy to sit down and help you find what ever adventure you are looking for. i sadly made the mistake of pre booking an over expensive camel ride in a really tourist place however despite this he took me out to the village desert in a car just have me compare and omg it was soo amazing we spent the sun set jumping of sand dunes taking pictures dancing it was a really great time. if your looking for more off the beating path desserts and such even if you don't stay at his place you should seek him out its well worth it and he does not try to give you the jack off rip off prices many of the other places do. the owner of this hotel is honestly what made my trip how i pictured it and i could not have left happier i highly recommend this hotel for your stay!

Room Tip: just ask the owner and he will give you what you want but you have to ask other wise its like any ot...

We stayed in this hotel 5 days. Spacious light room with three windows, hot water 24h. and all you need. Free Wi-Fi on reception. Good roof-top restaurant with qualitative and not expensive food. Our special 'thanks' (from 'couple of sisters') to Mr.Nanga who did all his best for our nice and comfortable staying in Jaisalmer.
