“Disappointed by customer service”
Reviewed January 10, 2012

At first glance this hotel seemed like an ideal option for the price. My friends and I paid 660 per night for double rooms without AC (so 330 per person). It was winter, so AC was not necessary anyway. The rooms were quite basic (no telephone to call the desk/restaurant, no TV, etc.) and smelled faintly of cigarette smoke, but were passably clean and were fine for the few hours we spent there. The restaurant provided a rather limited menu, but the food was tasty enough, if a bit on the expensive side. The "included" breakfast was nothing more than toast, butter, jam, and tea, which we found disappointing, but we were able to order eggs (and pay extra for them).

Our biggest complaint regards customer service. When we arrived we asked for drinking water several times, and they said they would provide it, but they never gave us any until the following day. We also asked them for some mosquito repellent for the rooms, which had a fair number of mosquitoes flying around in them. Again they promised to bring it, but they never did.

But the worst part of all was the camel safari we booked through the hotel. When we originally made our reservations they told us that a 3-hour camel safari would cost 800 rupees per person. When we arrived at the hotel (just a couple weeks later), the man told us that it would be 1200 rupees. We were able to get him down to 1100 rupees, which he said would include transportation to and from the safari as well as dinner while on the safari. Well, the "transportation" ended up being a public bus that was extremely crowded - not even any seats for most of the journey. Then the camels themselves were not healthy - one had flies crawling all over its nose to the point where we didn't even want to take photos of it because of how disgusting it looked. The saddles on each camel were falling apart and clearly had seen better days, and the only food provided was chai and 2 packets of biscuits (value: 20 rupees at most). When we raised our frustration with the owner and told him that we were not satisfied and felt that he misled us and didn't give us what he promised, he became very angry and started yelling at us. He went so far as to say, "Whether you are satisfied or not doesn't matter."

Because of the poor handling of this situation and the overall poor quality of customer service, I can only recommend that you stay far away from this hotel and look elsewhere for your accommodations and/or camel safari while in Bikaner.

We had very bad expirience for this hotel. First- hotel is located far from city. we reach there by auto . Than we see the room is very small, not as from its web site. when we enter the room, AC and TV is not working, than we complaint to the owner, he was not responding to any word. We say them, we will not stay in this hotel, he say o.k. pay two days rent. we say no, we are not staying so we will not pay. He become angry and tell us " i know how to take money from you". After 1 hr. quarrel we will pay 1 day room charge and than we leave hotel- so we are not staying in this hotel, still he take charge from us- very cheap- cheater.

He advertise for his hotel, from outside, he put a board than swimming pool inside. But we saw, there is no filter plant. pool is full with insects. we tell to servant, he tell us" if you give me 2000RS for swimming in this pool, i will not. " than we move to other hotel in this city. so pl. don't go there- he is cheater. not good for tourist. he spoiled our holidays so pl. pl. dont go there.

As website states I booked this hotel for one day at 800 Rs. for AC room. But I was not allowed to switch AC stating that during winter either Gyser or AC is allowed. Also refused to change the water in swiming pool. So please confirm these and then book.

The hotel is well located, away from the busy hustle bustle of the city. Parking is available for about 4 cars. The room was fine, spacious with clean washrooms. The AC was old and noisy, but worked. TV remote didn't work, and didn't get replaced. No mosquito repellant was provided.
No EPABX to call room service. The bell provided was not working.
Sleep quality is fine. The caretaker is friendly and helpful, but he was nowhere to be seen in the evening.
The hotel has a restaurant, but food is not too great and the prices are a little high.
NOTE: Swimming pool was empty. We were told the pool was being cleaned.

More importantly, the complimentary breakfast offered along with the room is limited and unsatisfactory. Only bread, butter, jam and tea was offered. We could only negotiate to 1 Parantha for each person instead of the bread.

Overall: Good, recommended for short stay.

LIKED: Cleanliness, space, location
DISLIKED: Breakfast, No service at night

Room Tip: Check washrooms and bedsheet quality before finalising.

We really loved this hotel, it was like the eccentric places we stayed at all over India in the 1980s. Laid back staff, in fact it seemed like the guy running it was asked to mind it for a friend and the friend never returned! he was a lovely helpful bloke though. The room was functional and large, but had seen better days and had some weird electrical stuff in it. The carpet was grotty though. The pool looked nice but it was too cold for swimming. The restaurant had a basic menu and the food had a home cooked taste to it. If someone put a bit of work into this hotel it could be a gem. Only down side is it is a long way from all the action, but there were always lots of rickshaws and it isn't far from the bus stop to the rat temple. was difficult though getting transport for an early train.

We stayed 3 nights, paying Rs600 for a double room. Good value considering what we got. Nice pool and lovely lawned gardens. Beds rather firm but they helped by offering an extra mattress. Food OK but some things a little pricey. Nice to have a fridge in the room. Small shop with drinks, snacks and Internet next door. A bit out on a limb with nothing much in the area but we walked to the fort in about 1/2 hour. Very quiet.
