“Friendly, family atmosphere and a wonderful camel safari experience!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

We stayed two days, one night and enjoyed our stay! The one night camel safari was EXCELLENT!! We had a great time with the guide Harpool and his camel men :) The food was awesome! Vino and his family are very friendly, accommodating, and the room was clean! Our only issue was we were picked up by Vino's tour/hotel manager? from the train station and he didn't give us much information about the safari but tried to get us on a day tour of Bikaner where it seemed like he would benefit from commission of purchases. In the end Vino helped to get our camel trek organized and was fantastic!

We stayed here as we were going on a safari and were collected from the station which was good, as we had a long journey. Although he did walk fast enough ahead of us we had to jog with backpacks to keep up with him!!
The pool is now closed which is a real shame as on a hot day would be nice to sit and relax and be able to use it. I know the other people who were there were also gutted that the pool was not open.
The food was good and cheap and nice to sit and eat there, just as well as the location of the guesthouse is 3k from the town so makes it a slight pain to get in and out of town.
The safari was good and I would say the one night safari is enough for most inexperienced people and you can sit on the cart when it is all too much! I would have liked to have gone through some villages as we only went to one, and it would be more beneficial to do a couple of villages to see life outside the city. The one down thing was we stayed in the desert not far from the village and there was an all night festival with music all night so no one slept, and the guide knew this, so could have taken us further out as the music was so loud. It would have been beautiful to sleep under the stairs in silence rather than pounding music. Oh well.
The rooms were lovely I thought and I would go for the rooms outside as they were great.

Room Tip: Remember there is no pool now as he closed it. The outside rooms are cooler. Remember it is 3k fr...

Stayed for 2 nights in September 2012. Brilliant garden rooms which are large and clean and a very friendly owner with a great singing voice. Seen the new desert safari site, was looking amazing. Nice peaceful stay. Highly recommend it!

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel in August 2012.
We also took a two days desert safari organized by Vino.
Let’s first talk about the guesthouse: it is located far away from the old city center and the Bikaner station (you need a rickshaw to move through the city); Vino sent a driver to pick us up at the train station (without being asked) and he didn’t even charge us for the ride! Moreover, Vino in person kindly drove us in the early morning (4.30 am!!!) to the station, always free of charge (that is quite rare there!). Anyway he makes you feel comfortable and if you have any question or request you just have to ask him.
We took a double room inside Vino’s house for the price of 350 rupees per night. It was pretty clean, large and had a lott of plugs! Vino doesn’t have rooms with air conditioned.
Free wifi is avaiable but it only works in the common room.
The guesthouse has also a garden with rooms around it.
Food is good, home cooked and quite cheap.
About the safari: as we went during rain season, we didn’t see many sand dunes but many peacoks and antilops; we enjoyed camp food prepared by camel man (they taught us how to clean plates just with sand); we spent a nice time with our english speaking guide. The safari ended with the visit of Mata Temple (the Rats Temple) in Deshnok.

We stayed at Vino´s in January. As others mentioned, the Rooms are basic but spacious and the whole Family is VERY friendly. Vino tries to help you with all the Questions you have...we also did a Camel Safari with Vino´s wich was great aswell.

About 3 kms from the train station, it is a bit of a hike back and forth if you're wanting to use services inside the city or see the fort. Our room was spacious with large windows and an attached bathroom. Unfortunetly, the walls offer little soundproofing to the household noises below and after arriving exhausted at 5am from our train, we got to listen to an explosive domestic arguement that lasted a few hours. There is a closed off garden available to take your meals in, which also has a swimming pool (but it was covered and closed off). You can have your meals prepared by the guesthouse and the food was simple, cheap, and quickly made.

Room Tip: Convenient if doing a camel safari, but not for seeing the city.

We did enjoy our stay and camel safari with vino, but a 2-day camel-safari is probably more than enough for most people. We took a 3-day-tour and would have been happy with two days, seeing as the camp on night 1 is far more scenic. Vino was very helpful and stuck to his word.

Room Tip: The rooms inside the house are cooler and more homely than the ones around the courtyard.
