“Very good place for watching shillong from highest peak”
Review of Shillong Peak

Reviewed June 15, 2013

This place is located at about 10 kms from the shillong.First we have to move towards chirapunji Road .After going 5 to 6 kms on this road we have turn to left side .We had to go to highest peak on this road. There is a military check post here. One should have to take permission of the millitary authority for going further to shillong Peak. After buying the Tickets we can watch and enjoy the nature at this highest peak.View of entire shillong can be enjoyed from here.we can also have refreshment at this place as some shops funcion here for supply of eatables soft drinks fruits ect.We can also buy giftsfor our near and dears.

I moved from guwahati in a early morning and reached shillong by 10 A.M. It is almost 9-10 K.Ms from shillong. Roads are excellent and it takes half an hour to reach there due to hilly roads. This peak point lies in Air force cantontment, so there permission and ticket required, which is available at the counter only. Also money ATM is present there. After taking ticket move onwards for 1-1.5 kms for the view. Please keep air neat and clean as mentioned there and area is very much neat and clean. There are small shops to eat and but food items. Don't miss the tea there, it is excellent and enjoyable by viewing the whole shillong from top. If possible go early in the morning, so that wind is very cool and refreshing. Parking facilities are available. Enjoy the Shillong Peak....

I have visited Shillong peak two to three times. This is around 10 km from main town and at the highest point of shillong . Roads are very smooth but roundish to go upto the peak point. So sometimes vomitting filling or vomit may occer as the other hilly way. Peak is very nice and cold . From peak you can find how nice of the city. you can observe full shillong city from here. The peak is not so spacies but bounderies made by railing. So can spend sometime to enjoy this peak.

Very Nice place for city view, The Shillong peak stands at a whopping 2000mtr above sea level. The peak dedicated to the city is also the highest point in the state. An ideal picnic spot, the Shillong Peak offer breathtaking bird's eye view of the city and the scattered villages around the Peak. A sanctum offering curtsy U Shulong is located at the peak's summit. The spiritual pastor of Mylliem State offers prayers at the sanctum during springtime. If the view of the human abode below is breathtaking during daytime, then the view at nighttime in absolutely awe inspiring. The city and other dwelling lights provide the ground below an aura of the night sky.

This is just a view point popularly known as "Shillong Peak". One of the highest peaks in Shillong. You can see the whole town from there. Vehicles can be parked right near to the view point. Need to have a good zoom camera to take good snaps. The place will be usually crowded with tourists. Few shops are there selling local articrafts and other things. Bargain for the best price if you are planning to buy anything. There is a watch tower for the best view, another one under construction.
