Sunday afternoon and craved for some good food (ummm unlimited food but should be affordable). Unlimited+Affordable, sounds tricky. But here is the place for this combination, Blue Lagoon.

Yes, of course its not over the top place. Everything here is above average (Take my words) but one can consider this option when it comes to buffet@less price.

Ambiance is good, along with good food options as buffets with veg and non veg options at a very attractive price. I along with my friends enjoyed our lunch.

We had purchased vouchers and booked table for 31st Jan evening. Occasion was my wife's birthday. We also made 2 calls for reservations. Once we reached we were shocked to know that entire building was under renovation and lift was out of service. My dad being handicapped had to climb 2 floors after lots of discussions and deliberations between all of us whether to allow him to do so. After reaching hotel entrance we asked hotel manager why he hadn't cared to inform us while booking. But he had the audacity to decline that he needed to and that all his existing clients knew. He didn't have courtesy to apologize for his mistake. We immediately decided to leave the place and again my poor dad had to climb down 2 floors with all efforts in vain. We there and then decided never to visit the place again in our life. Suggest others to consider this too since hotel staff behavior was absurd and annoying.

The ambience is not so great but the food quality compensates it. The service is also good. Value for money - especially of you go for the buffet. 6 starters, 6 main course etc are definitely worth with the taste that it comes with

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and opted for the lunch buffet.

There is a smallish (hence cramped) elevator that takes you from the main MG Road footpath up a couple of floors to the restaurant.

The restaurant is fairly spacious and the service is good. What lets it down is the overall taste of the buffet dishes.

The buffet includes four starters (we got chicken 65, prawn fry, honey potatoes and veg tikkis)... all just about okay. There was a veg soup available, but we did not sample that.

The main course was a complete disaster. The paneer was chewy, the rice devoid of taste, and the mutton dish was insipid. Only the stir fried noodles were palatable (and probably saves the restaurant from getting a poor rating from me).

Desserts were okay... gulab jamun, vanilla ice cream, strawberry ice cream, chocolate mousse.

The buffet is clearly for those guests who prefer quantity (unlimited helpings) over quality (taste).

It is unlikely that anyone from my family who accompanied me here will be returning back anytime soon. And definitely not for the buffet!
