“Nothing great and absolutely no view!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2014

Went to this place for a special occasion. Was thoroughly disappointed. Getting to this place was quite tedious as there were no sign boards and the roads leading were village roads which were narrow and bumpy. This wouldn't be a problem if the property was worth it. But in the end, we just took a horrible road for a place that didn't offer value for money in the least.

The place is so small, you can actually see the end of it when you enter. There are about 8-9 rooms which are average and have swings in the balconies. The view from the balcony is a wall with barbed wire across it. Beyond that is some grass with stagnant water which you can see as you enter. (Probably a better view in the monsoons.) The place also has no entertainment whatsoever. Just a small garden with a worn out trampoline.

We were hoping their service would at least make up for lack of appeal to the place but that let us down too. The service, well there is no service. You have to come out and eat all your meals in a dining hall with four tables. No room service. So every time you need something, you have to get out of your room and find someone to order, clean etc. This is not what you want when you pay to relax.

The food at this place was quite nice. The traditional Maharashtrian food, which was quite tasty, but mind you, the prices are a bit over the top and they don't have it listed on a menu card. So you find out at the time of check out. Also, they do not have a variety of dishes. Just the usual Veg/ Non Veg Thali and for breakfast, omelettes, upma, poha. Evening snack was only the usual upma, poha however, they did take in a special request for onion bhajia, which to be honest were very salty.

Overall, an average property if you want to get out of the city and just go somewhere and don't have too many options. If your looking to spend time in a village and like the homestay experience then this might be worth trying. In my opinion, not worth the effort, time or your money. There are much better places that offer great service for that price range (5-6k including food)

Room Tip: There are only two types. AC/Non AC. All rooms have the same view which is equally bad. But if trave...

This is a place where you can leave your daily routine aside and just relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We were there for 2 days and enjoyed our stay there. The hospitality and food was commendable. The cottage was clean and house keeping guys were polite as well. Overall a very good experience. We would love to visit again.

My parents and I visited this cozy farm resort without high expectations but we were truly amazed at the offerings out there. The resort is nestled between hills and greenery engulfs you. The soothing sound of water gushing in a stream nearby makes it a rejuvenation hotspot. There are seven cottages in the resort and all of them are extremely well appointed. The interiors of the place are very luxurious and comfort has been given the utmost importance. The owner Swati, is extremely friendly and helpful. She is also a great cook and personally supervises the kitchen team. There is also a doctor on call. It is right in between Mumbai and Pune and thus a great weekend spot for all. Whether you are on a search for a fun place with friends or a relaxation haven with family, this is the place to be.

We went here as a group of 5, me my wife, my in laws and our 1 year old son. It was a bit of a gamble, because I booked solely on the tripadvisor reviews, and was a little unsure whether we'll like it, especially considering we had a young kid with us. But what an experience we had!

The hotel is a small place, only 7 rooms. But the rooms are very well done. Nice and bright. The bathrooms were nice and clean as well. the skylights in the bathrooms was a nice touch. Rooms are spacious, with a tv and a small private balcony. The only thing one could pick against is that the rooms don't really have a view.

All rooms open towards a common lawn. The lawn is well maintained and is dotted with a lot of interesting things. There are some 50-odd Ganapati idols in various merry poses. Each one different from the other. The other pottery artwork too is quite interesting. In the evening the lawn is lit up with lights and the sight is very beautiful.

It is situated in a very pretty area. There is a river which flows from nearby (walkable). Mulshi dam is around 20-25 minutes away by car. The surroundings are typical rural. One really feels like you've left the city life far behind.

The best thing about the whole setup is the caretaking staff. All our needs and whims were catered to, the people were extremely polite, genuine and nice to talk to. The food was excellent, freshly prepared minutes before it was served to us.

We really enjoyed our time here. Chilling out after the grinding city life. My son had an absolutely fantastic time running all over the place and we too felt very relaxed. My father in law was inspired to make a small painting of the place (attached) (he is not a professional artist).

Overall, I feel that it is a great place to relax. Especially with your family. The proximity to many spots, like mulshi dam, tikona fort etc, makes it a good spot to spend the night while visiting these places as well. I've been to malharmachi, which is now probably the most well known resort in mulshi now, I'll say that although Malharmachi is much bigger, posher and has more amenities. Rutuparna is definitely better VFM, and the personal touches provided here make the stay memorable.

Note:
The last stretch of the road is a bit lonely in between. I would advise against travelling after sunset for first time visitors.

Room Tip: Not a lot of difference across rooms, if you have a small kid, take the one closer to the kitchen.

Located in the midst of nature, Rutuparna Farm is perfect for people who seek peace and quiet for a couple of days. The rooms are big and clean and the food very tasty. A decent sized lawn allows for families, friends and/or couples to relax in fresh, cool air. The availability of a few board games help to keep the kids occupied. The surrounding landscape is great, so if you like going on walks or small treks this is the right place for you. The staff is polite and helpful. All in all it was a great experience and I will definitely be visiting Rutuparna Farm again.
