“Could have been much better!”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

I went to this place with much anticipation - however all the excitement was dumped the moment I reached the place - the staff was not at all courteous, had to wait for 1 hour to get the ticket (there is a museum ticket counter with no one to issue a ticket) as the staff was busy having lunch (THERE IS NO MENTION OF ANY LUNCH BREAK ON THE MUSEUM'S WEBSITE OR AT THE VENUE).

Once we got the tickets, we waited for 20 minutes outside the gate as there was no one to let us in or tell us what to do. When we finally entered a dark room, it turned out to be a turn table model where miniature railway toys have been placed. For kids this is very exciting - there is a story they tell and the models move & the table turns, etc. However the quality of the show was poor (at one point, the lady operating the model came out with a stick to hit one of the stuck train models - hahaha).

For Rs. 80 per person (again a discrepancy as the ticket counter says Rs. 50 per head whereas they charge Rs. 80 per head) this was a true disappointment. No take away or souvenirs leave kids high and dry as well.

Not recommended at all.

“Interesting Museum”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Kudos to the man who single-handedly transformed his ardent love for trains into a museum. It was a really interesting 30min show. The museum spans just a room, but it has quite a few trains.

“Joshi's Railway museum, Kothrud”

Amazing piece of work by an individual. The effort put in by an enthusiast and the immaculate arrangements to demonstrate the functioning of the railways is inspiring. Must visit for young children.
