Now Kadhai is a fantastic option when you are craving for those hot fried evening snacks. Situated in Anand Park, Aundh, this place offers some fantastic options of chaat, South Indian food, North Indian staples like Chole Bhature, puri bhaji and rajma chawal. They also have sandwiches and pastas.

The ambiance is quite decent, but sitting is at a premium given that they have 3-4 long tables. So either you share the table with other customers or take the standing table in the center.

Coming to the food – we really like their chaats. Way hygienic than what you get on the street but it still manages to hold on to the taste. Their pani-puri (Rs 30) is quite good and so is their papdi chaat (Rs 60).
We also like their chole bhature (Rs 85). The bhature are always fried fresh in front of you once you submit the coupon.

They also have lots of fresh Indian sweets, but we haven’t really tried any so far.
Frankly, you may try all items and some of them may tickle taste buds but the best part is RABDI and MALPUA also piping hot JALEBIs (ask for KHARI… bit over fried).

Fanatic variety of chaat, Good taste of north Indian food. Sitting areas is an issue on weekends one has to wait a lot to get a place, restaurant has to look and increase the capacity.

Being a Chaat fanatic, I have been wanting to try out the new air-conditioned Kadhai that opened in Aundh few weeks back. Its quite a change from the popular old one in the basement of Ozone Mall.

The new Kadhai comes with a tagline 'Our look has changed. But our cook hasn't.' Quite true. The place has a restaurant like feel and yet manages to keep the essence of a chaat centre. The decor is neat. There are long tables placed for people to sit and enjoy along with a few round tables if anyone wants to stand and grab a quick bite without idling. The place is self service. We got one plate of Chhole Tikki and one plate of Bhel. Remember that the prices are quite steep compared to your regular street chaatwalas. The Chhole Tikki was around 50/- and Bhel was around 35/-. Once we got our plates both of them looked appealing. The Tikki was on the spicier side (it should be) but had excess of 'imli chutney.' Decent and good taste otherwise. The Bhel was good and well balanced. Their pani-puri or gol gappe is a major letdown. Same like the old place. They have finely cut pieces of green and red chilli in the water. The mouth starts burning just after 2 puris.
Their best so far is the Jalebi Rabdi which is absolutely mouth watering and lives up to the expectations.

The new restaurant has added a number of other dishes. They now serve all sorts of sandwiches and I remember seeing a few shakes in the menu. Also items in the Mithai section have been increased. Overall a good experience. Recommended for at least one visit.

A place to feast on chaat, be it paani puri, bhel puri OR south indian stuff or desserts. You can visit the place several times to try out all the offerings and you won't be disappointed. Self-service, you may to stand and eat. Or you can always order take-out...complete value-for-money.
