“Very nice museum in Pune”

The museum has an impressive collection of items, which alone makes the visit worth.

Unfortunately it is in not the best conditions to be fully appreciated: dusty and dimly lighted, the collection is organized around a non-consequential exploratory path.

Also, not a problem for me but visitors on a wheelchair may have issues due to the fact that the museum spans 3 floors and there didn't seem to be an elevator.

It is not very often that one gets to see a museum created and preserved as lovingly as the Kelkar museum in Pune. There are several highlights to visiting museum, the most notable being the sheer variety of artefacts right from lovely diyas, to nut crackers, to pots (earthern/ metallic), or miniature statues of Hindu gods.
All you need is some hours of a lazy Saturday/ Sunday, and you will return enriched, and humbled by the art practised by our forefathers.
Must see in my and family's view.

PS: It can be tiring for some to watch so many artefacts, so carry along refreshments :)

A worth visiting place for history lovers. Its located in the heart of the city and easily accessible.
The history of honorable Peshwas' opens up in the form of their royal daily usage articles to equipments used for wars. Visit to know & feel the life style of great Indian warriors.

Wonderful artefacts from India's past, from textiles and utensils to dieties and vessels. Take your time, visit more than once, cos there is too much to take in in one go.
