This is my favorite hill station in pune which must be visited in rainy season or just after rain.
the greenary and the mountains and the valleys are sooo beautiful.

there are many spots to me visited.
The cool climate is too refreshing for a weekend break.

A good place for friends to hang around. also for family and friends.

We visited malshej ghats on our drive back from Shirdi. The place was excellent with some peaks even reminding of pandora from the movie 'Avataar'. It was extremely windy and chilly so do carry windcheaters and warm clothes. Must visit but unfortunately accommodation is below par as we checked out the only 2 resorts available there. great for a day picnic or a drive by. The food at MTDC was surprisingly excellent.

This is a must visit place located in Pune district. This place is arround 120 Km from Pune and also equally the same distance from Mumbai.
I visited this place with friends and i wasnt aware of the beauty of this place in Monsoon season. This is one of the most beautiful place in Monsoon for those who like to see natuaral beauty. A nice view of valleys is one of the major attraction here. On the way you will find small fall where you can click some pics and overall beauty is just awesome.
Not much places to eat but there is one MTDC resort.
More nearby around it is Harishchandragad and Shivneri Fort.

We've been to Malshej Ghat twice, the last time during last year's monsoons. The drive from Pune is scenic and rejuvenating despite the two-lane Nashik highway. Malshej ghat during monsoons is a picturesque landscape with numerous jagged peaks thrusting into cottony clouds and the preponderance of the color green all around. If you stay at the delightfully located MTDC property, you get to experience the best of the place. The property overlooks a deep valley, and on clear days offers stunning views of several waterfalls and rivulets in the distance. At other times the entire place is draped in white mist. It does rain a lot there so be prepared to either get drenched or stay indoors for extended periods. But the few fortuitous periods of clear skies and warm sunshine make the trip more than worthwhile.
There are a few sights in and around Malshej too, including the Shivneri fort and the lake and it's worth the trouble to visit those too. Shivneri is one of the best maintained forts in Maharashtra.
