“Good only in rainy season”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

Sinhagad fort is worth a visit only in rainy season. During rainy season, on to the top of the fort you can see clouds (fog) but after rainy season there won't be any cloud which makes it a boring place.

Pitla Bhakri is must try dish on top of the fort.

“Not much to see here”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

This fort is in shambles. You walk long distances in the whole area just to find out that the whole structure is in ruin. 2-3 gates or doors is all there is left of the fort. Inside the complex there are many hawkers hawking their wares at high prices and constantly disturbing you. However, since this is located atop a hill you get a good view of the Pune city - though nothing mesmerizing.

“Just an open air lovers spot”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

I liked nothing and disliked everything. Nothing great to look at. So dry. Poor maintainance. All around we could see only lovers sitting. Mere waste.

“Not as expected.”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

I had hoped for more than a skeletal ruin but still enjoyed the visit. The gardens were pretty and reasonably well maintained. I didn't mind the additional costs but 5-100 rupees is a little much.

“The lion fort Gary Ayala Singh Gail's”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

This historic cry of anguish from the great Shivaji wa/s uttered when he was given the news that his forces had entered the famous Fort but he had lost his very dear friend and a fearless leader Tanajirao Angre

The Sinhagarh fort is situated by the picturesque akharakwasla Lake. The world famous National Defence Academy is located just across the lake, and almost each and every cadet who undergoes the training will have a dozen stories to tell about pleasure trips or punishment runs to the Sinhgarh Fort.

The Fort Attracts many tourists. To enjoy it to maximum, one needs to have sufficient and energy to take a trek to its top, which is reasonably challenging but not daunting. Carry your picnic basket and drinks as nothing much is available on top. It is a historical attraction but it is not well maintained. You will have a memorable trip if you are a history buff and enjoy a nice trek and work out .

The view from. Top with a vast lake spread out and the symmetrical National Defence Academy just beyond it , will be suffuicient reason to carry back excellent memories. Carry a good camera to make them yours for ever.

If you can combine it with a visit to NDA it would be perfect..
