I had visited the fort on 4th Oct, 2012. It was a special occasion for me as I had planned to celebrate my Husbands birthday. I thought to give him a good surprise trip and a relaxing weekend, But all in vein. When we reached there we found that there is a corporate visit along with us. This results a dramatic change. Everything was booked for them, and we felt as if we are nobody there. In spite of paying equal money we had a tough time. Everything was shuffled for the corporate people without informing. Beware if you are going for a relaxing, romantic weekend as a couple.
I had booked the tent. But the money we paid was not worth it. They provided a 22 inched TV, which was too small if we are watching from the Bed. The Room was stinking and even room fresheners were not used. Bathrooms were pathetic as it was stinking. The telephone was not near the Bed. So anytime if you want to/receive a call you need to get up from the bed. No Room service is available for tents.
As per the activities mention on the official sites, nothing is good. They have a gazal program every Saturday. But when we went there to join it, we found the gazal is replaced by a DJ. It is a shocking replacement and the hotel staff is not even bothered to inform us. The reason being that the corporate people demanded. We went there for the cultural, calm and relaxing weekend and we got just the opposite. If you are not in a large group you will surely get bored as nothing is there for passing the time. So you will not get whatever is mentioned there in the activity.
For small kids as well the play ground was not maintained properly.
The visit to museum was also not that good. We can see few items that will easily available today as well in shop. Didn’t felt that those were antiques.
We did talk to the manager about this, but in spite of consoling us he was asking “What can be done now”.
Moving on to food. Yes it is bit costly. We thought to have grills in the evening. But when we reach there we found that grill section was replaced by buffet without informing us especially for the corporate people as they were large in group and we were just two of us. We felt left out.
Finally in the night, that company people were making too much noise and we were not able to sleep. We called to reception at 11:00 and they replied “we cannot ask them to be quite, you better change the room”. That was disgusting, to change the room @ mid night.
Few points that I want to highlight below if you are visiting the fort:
Good Points:
• It’s good for a corporate visits
• Good to go in a large group
Now the list of bad points:
• Not at all good for couples or spending a good romantic time.
• No activities. As they had mentioned a long list of activities but they can be only availed if the Hotel is fully occupied.
• Tent was not value for money
• Costly
• Drives with the quantity of people. If you are alone they are not bothered.
• Do No provide the comfortable environment.

Hotel should treat all its customers as equal and should not drive with the quantity of the people. Hotel should maintain its dignity and increase the number of activities.

Room Tip: DO not go for Tent, as they are not clean enough and do not provide privacy.

A fort now a hotel, understand the concept. But its actually neither. And what's with the immodest prices?! Too compulsive to pay 500 bucks for pithla bhakri in a non-A/C restaurant.. visit only in light monsoons.. visit only for corporate evening fests.. skip for rest all of the occasions

I stayed one night in this hotel and was pleasantly surprised at the way they have converted an old fort into a very quaint and romantic place. def worth a visit for a quiet holiday and special leadership sessions.

There's lots you can use this excelent spot as. Its nearby pune, its 5 star grade, its lush n green, it has excellent dining options, alchohol and beautifully desgned and comfortable rooms.
Its worth its money. Had been there in Sep 2012, when there were no entrace fees. We were charged only for the lunch which was Rs. 799 per person - veg & non veg . alchohol extra.
from 10 am to 5 pm , it cost us around Rs. 1200 per person which was worth. They have excelent swiming pool and an historic museum too.

I was whisked away secretly to this destination on our marriage anniversary -who else but my hubby! It was a pleasant surprise :) . He had asked them to set a private balcony for the evening--it was perfect decorated with flowers and he even asked them to bake a fresh cake for dessert! We had champagne and mouth watering "Kolhapuri Mutton". My husband had booked us a TENT yippie..My little kid 2yrs old then also enjoyed th ewhole experience - enjoying a nice time on a swing on one of the trees. The fort is restored and the rustic ambience is very appealing. Loved the whole experience. We left early next day as my husband had to go back to work--but he totally made my day. Good getaway if you stay close to or in Pune -just 35minutes for us to reach.
The best thing was the TUTAREE at the entrance--its what the MARATHAS used during the reign of Shivaji Maharaj!!! Very culturally inspiring place!!
We also got a wine complimentary !!
