Being her birthday yesterday , My daughter sampada invited us to her closely held party at Nisarg . The small open place in front of the entrance to the restaurant but within the property was dimly lit . The restaurant is a two floors one with a capacity to sit more than 150 guests . It boasts of a well stocked bar . The people working there right from the bell boy to the manager are very well mannered .
The restaurant specializes in sea food ranging from Bombil , Crab , Halwa , Lobster , Pomfret , Rawas , Shimple , Surmai , etc . prepared in Goan , Konkani , Malwani , Tandoor , etc . styles .
We ordered for shallow fried Rawas ultapulta in Malwani style & Surmai chatpata in tandoor style as starters , Solkadhi and Rawas curry in Goan style , rice breads , aamboli , jeera rice , steamed rice , dal tadaka and prawn biryani as main course .
Though Rawas ultapulta was overspiced Surmai was at its best . Rawas curry was mildly spiced , aamboli and rice cake were excellent , rice preparations and dal tadka were really good . Icing on the cake was Prawn biryani which was more than ample , tasty and satiated our desire to order more .
When we exited one security guard showed a big live crab from the crab house to my little Sharlina and encouraged her to fondle the crab .
If everything is so nice then why I am hesitating to give the Excellent rating to this restaurant ?
One reason is as the tables are placed too closely , one really gets forced to hear what a stranger says to her friend . this is irritating . The other reason is there is no coordination in bringing the ordred dishes . We were served rice cakes and aambolis first . After waiting for 10 minutes we have to remind the steward to bring the Rawas curry . Similarly we have to wait endlessly for our coveted Prawn biryani .
This is a nice example of how a reputation can be ruined by not sticking to basic rules of hospitality .
