We stayed here in Feb 2013 for two weekends... What a place nice clean, Simple and spacious rooms. Complete colonial feel. The place in over 100 years old... Nice breakfast... Most important is its dinning section just outside the room as a lane. Makes a great area for dinner. We meet a gentleman whom we are friend now thanks to this dinner area. The owners are very graceful. We loved the room no 9 which is with a special balcony.

The place is easily accessible from main market . A 4-5 minutes walk. The open area is a delight... Sunset from the benches was a treat... All in all it was a great stay on both weekends. Simple and nice well maintained weekend home.

Room Tip: Room no 9 is with option of independent balcony. Nice and cozy room.

Very beautiful setting, though few rooms are small they very cosy, very courteous family who cook splendid parsi food, and feed one sumptuous dishes be it the breakfast or the meals. Location of the place though right in the heart of Panchgani, are walking distance from beautiful points with fantastic beauty. great place for trekkers.

Background - Mahabaleshwar and Panchagani are the twin hill stations nestled in the Sahyadris..the biodiversity of the western ghats are at its best here. You get mesmerizing views of the cliff and the valleys, feast on yummy strawberries and other fresh farm foods. But these hill stations are close to Pune and Mumbai..and just like Lonavala this is the reason they are becoming more and more of an irritant these days. On every weekend hoards of tourist descend over here and jam pack all the sites, points and hotels. I think this is where hotels like Mount View Heritage are in a class of their own. If you want to skip the rush and spend quality time in the wilderness then this is one of the best hotels you should opt for.

About Mount View Heritage - Its a Heritage Hotel (more of a bungalow) in Panchgani. It located as soon as you enter Panchgani on a edge of a mountain. Its a huge bungalow with very big rooms. We took a family room with 6 beds but its good enough to house 10 people. There are 7-8 rooms in main bungalow and all of them offer good views of the vistas and valley but the view could become great if they clear the grass and unwanted vegetation in-front. The hotel is spread on a large area and you will have a good time walking in the front verandah in the misty mornings and evenings. Rooms are fitted with ambient lights and LCD Television. The hotel has a TT table and Table Football for recreation. And yes, its within walking distance from Panchagni Market and Table Land.

Food - Breakfast was superb. Egg varieties are tasty. This is basically a non-veg only kitchen so vegetarians should look elsewhere honestly. Lunch & Dinner was also good but I feel its somewhat pricey. I mean if I serve Lunch without Rotis & Desert, I wouldn't charge 250 per person. But yes the Parsi delicacies are good to have for a change. Desert and Dinner time was a bit letdown. But having Lunch & Dinner in the verandah in cold mountainous air looking at the valley is a nice experience none the less. Also this being basically a B&B accommodation, they never ask you to eat in. Its perfectly fine for the management if you eat outside, they will also be open to give you nice suggestions.

Service - The staff is well behaved and prompt. They have a bell system, and bell boys show up quickly too. The owners take care of you personally. I spoke with Veerzad & his dad during our stay and both of them are perfect gracious hosts. I have stayed at Ravine before and I think for Service, this hotel scores over Ravine.

Verdict - Go for it to for that calm family holiday for the jam packed streets of Mahabaleshwar. It's very affordable that's the best thing. You can enjoy your holiday in true palms of nature.

Room Tip: Any room will do..all have same valley facing doors and share common verandah.

Hi went there recently. This is an average hotel with okay looks but requires maintenance of rooms and cleaning of areas. The service was fast and food is good but i still feel this place needs some good maintenance work. Valley view gets blckedbecause of grown up grass and overall looks like no one has cleaned up the place for months (dry leaves all around). The management is very good and freindly though. My suggestion to mgmt is this place has good potential but maintain it very well and provide basic things like hot water 24X7 and good clean surrounding with nice plants/flowers so that people can walk around. Repair the driveway its in bad shape.

Overall it was a great experience staying at Hotel Mount View Heritage at Panchghani. The hotel was located on the main road, very near to the market. The scenic view from the hotel was was just amazing. The hotel, as the name suggests, is a very old structure having Victorian age furniture, but very well maintained.
The service of the hotel staff was very warm and polite. Room service and food offered were very good.
We had a very great time during our three day stay at the hotel and would definitely recommend anyone visiting Panchghani to try this hotel atleast once. Am sure you will love your stay.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the mountain view are amazing.

Stayed as a group in the dormitory type rooms - we rented 6 out, out of which neede to be swapped as it was too gloomy (room 14 I think) and 2 were very narrow "add ons" to the building (room 1 and room 9). It's budget accommodation - hot water for a few hours in the morning, no bedside lamps, frequent power fluctuations, etc. But it's clean, surprisingly lacked swarms of mosquitoes considering it's green surrounds and quite friendly. I wouldn't rave about the food (Parsi, but not the best or even close) and couldn't really comment on the service as the 2 brothers who usually run the place were not around and their parents made up adequately for their absence.
There were other groups staying in the same main building we were housed in and this could prove to be a noise problem for families with smaller kids or those who retire early - the dining area is directly outside the rooms so light and sounds filter through due to proximity and as most of the winows and doors don't close properly.
Rooms 10-13 are the better done up ones in the separate bungalow.
Tea is great!
Try Bageecha restaurant on the way to Mahabaleshwar for zunka bhakri and makai bhaji.

Room Tip: In the main bungalow avoid 1 and 8, in the 2 nd bungalow avoid 9 and 14- the end rooms, as they are...

My family and parents had visited Mount View in June. The hotel is lovely cozy rooms and felt disconnected from the daily hustle, which was really needed. Food was great couldn't ask for anything better. The rooms are well kept and the boys who do the running around are really polite and just feels good to be in a place where you are cared for.

This is managed by a Parsi couple and the uncle there cooks yumm food. Breakfast is truly like a king so are the other meals. You request and you have it.

Will be visiting this place once again when have some time off work.

Room Tip: Look for room no 9 at the Prochi cottage.
