We stayed here in Oct 2008. The property had just been renovated and the work was still in progress.

The standard rooms we stayed in were great even though a little cramped. Our room has a door at the back which directly led to the swimming pool

The swimming pool was huge, but not that clean as renovation work was still going on.

The food at the restaurant was ok.

The gym facing the pool was a nice concept (not sure whether many peopl would like it)

We were travelling around India in November 2008.
We were very interested about visiting Aurangabad caves, so we decide to spend there at least two days, one day to Ellora and the other to Ajanta.
We took a package that the hotel offered which included breakfast, dinner, two days of touristic visit (to Ellora and Ajanta, in a a/c car) and transfer from/to train station.
We loved the hotel!!!
The room was really clean and new. You can borrow (free of charge) dvd from reception so we spend one night watching a Bollywood movie.
Breakfast was superb (not only indian food, also european/american breakfast). I enjoyed our two dinners, there were many options, but I liked their way to cook the indian food.
Every morning they leave the newspaper in you room, with a free bottle of water.
We didn't use the swimming pool, but It looked great.
The location is not very "central", but we didn't mind too much.
I have to say that all the staff of the hotel was really helpful... When we were there (in November) the hotel was brand new, so there weren't many customers, but I think the future is very positive for them if they continue working like they were doing!!!

This hotel is a good option for the upper range of hotels in Aurangabad. It's a bit dated in parts, but is clean, and spacious and well-maintained. The restaurant is good but is pure-veg, and the pool is unheated (standard for most of India) which is fine for most of the year, but makes it unusable in the winter (it is still open though). If it were a similar price to the Taj I would give it a big thumbs down, but if you can get a decent discount (and you usually can) then it is very competitive.

From the view of a 13 year old
I am 1 of 4 children in a family of 6 and we stayed here for 3 nights to see the Ellora and Ajanta caves. The hotel was absolutely perfect. We bought a package which included one meal a day and tours around the caves and other local attractions. The rooms were basic with a king bed, hot shower, cable TV, and internet facilities. They are priced at around 700 INR for 24 hours. The hotel had a large pool and a gymnasium overlooking the pool. They also offered a small kids wading pool right next to the main pool. The pool was not very clean though, you could barely see 3 feet in front of you when you went under water. The restaurant was very good, it offered breakfast, lunch and dinner, all buffet. In the morning they would offer puris, pancakes (not very good), sausages, bacon, other Indian curries etc. The trips they offered to the caves were amazing, the guides were top quality and they took us around in a Toyota Innova. It was a two hour drive to the Ajanta caves and a 45 minute drive to the Ellora caves. We also went to fort Daulatabad. They were all amazing. The Ajanta caves were a lot quieter than the closer Ajanta Caves which were very touristy. I recommend the Ajanta Caves but go to the Ellora caves which are also amazing. The Daulatabad fort was probably my favorite though. The tour took you through the fort and they showed you the techniques that they used to defend themselves from the enemies. Our guides name was Thomas who was amazing. When booking I would ask for him if available. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Lemon Tree Hotel in Aurangabad was excellent. Immaculately clean, great food and helpful, polite staff. The pool was lovely, and kept spotlessly clean by a man who would clean the bottom out each morning. The rooms were well furnished, decorated brightly and in a modern style, with balconies looking out over the pool.

The food in the restuarant was delicious. Breakfast offered a good range of both Indian and English food.

The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed, and the staff were helpful without being too instrusive.

Only downside was there beauty salon - I had my hair cut there and it was a disaster!

Other than that, I would definetly stay here again.
