“best place for short stays and best location for major temples!”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

The rooms are basic but everything was clean and worked perfectly.
Deepak, the manager, attended every request we made (bikes rentals, train tickets, whatever) and provided everything we needed asap.
So we could just enjoy the city and the temples.
Best place for short stays and best lcoation for major temples!

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor are better.

Walked into this hotel after reeling in shock from room booked in Zen Hotel. This room was basic as most in this price range are but it was clean and the manager of the hotel was pleasant and helpful without being pushy. We had a room at the front with a table on the balcony to look across to wonderful carved temples however, Khauraho in winter is cold so use of this and the rooftop was limited.
Towels were brand new - literally, with purchase tags still attached, so not exactly absorbent but clean. Breakfast was adequate and standard fare. Restaurant meals were fine.
Location is a huge plus and without the temples, there is not a lot of charm in Khajuraho so this hotel was quite OK for 2 nights.
Rating a hotel based on experiences in Indian hotels is very different from comparing to standards (and prices) as experienced in western countries. For location, cleanliness and price it was good.

Room Tip: Our room at the front was perfect with balcony area and view.

We stayed here for one night and had a room with two double beds for three of us and paid INR 1500. It's not the best room we've ever seen, but we thought it was a good option considering we had such a short time. You literally only have to cross the road to enter the beautiful temples complex!

Stayed in a double room in November (1600 inr) for two nights

Room was enough big but wasn't clean in our arrival, at 22:00! also sheets had to be replaced, twice. Also hot water not working, next day was fixed

Besides this, the rest was ok, acceptable restaurant, I'd tater suggest other options with better quality very near from there, and kind service.

In summary there are better options same price, or less in town. I'd suggest reserve in advance

i stayed in this hotel during my khajuraho visit. The room is nicely maintained. Services were good and homelike. Staff is courteous and cooperative. Food is exellent among all other restaurants in town. The best thing is the beautiful view of the khajuraho temples from the hotel. I wish to stay again in this hotel.

We ate here only because our tour guide arranged it for us - roof-top restaurant etc. (It does not appear on TA as a restaurant, hence review here)

It was freezing cold in the wind with no shelter and no light on the tables, you can't see the temples as it is winter, and the food was dismal. Vegetable dishes lacking any finesse of flavour and the "Mutton" (goat) curry was inedible - all bones and gristle - and frankly we wished we had stayed at our own hotel (albeit that had mixed reviews for food - Radisson Jass). No doubt the guide was getting some compensation!

Can't comment on hotel itself, but other reviews have damned it enough to put anyone off!

Much better to eat at the Blue Sky next door - see my review!

Let's start by saying that the location is perfect. We payed 2700 INR for a double room with extra bed. No breakfast included. The room was dirty. What should have been a hot shower, turned out to be thin stream of luke warm water out of the shower head. If you order a cheese sandwich at 70 INR they add 10 if you want it toasted... Finally they overcharged us at check out. Raj café next door is perfect for lunch or dinner.
