Our two night stay here finished off our merry 3 week jaunt around India. So you can imagine our delight with a hotel where all the comforts were in alignment - cleanliness, bathrooms, bedding, gardens, dining areas all excelled, as well as the proximity to the fabulous western group of temples. The dining staff were friendly albeit a little too zealous in seeking constant approval, in contrast to the robotic detachment of the front desk. I resented paying dearly for wifi - and the their refusal to accept Australian dollars was annoying ... we ended up getting an excellent exchange rate from a humble stall down the street, for heaven's sake. A hotel of this calibre should be aware of all Khajuraho has on offer at all times - as it was we happened to stumble on two excellent folk dance performances away from the venue on both evenings by asking people on the street. The gardens are a joy to behold but it surprised us that the pool was glacial, why is it not solar heated? The dining area is very large ... perhaps too large, and the wall mounted TV is completely inappropriate. The hotel, for all its luxury, lacks atmosphere and we found ourselves musing that we must be the only two people left on the planet!
Would I stay there again? Yes - it's a stones throw from the main group of temples and the short walks there morning and afternoon were a constant source of amusement, rather than relying on drivers who want to make you fell guilty about their apparently miserable lives.

Room Tip: Try for upstairs, I'm sure there are rooms to spare!

After visiting Varanasi, The Hotel Lalit Temple View and a breeze of fresh air welcomed us in Khajuraho. Good Value for money in that category of hotel. Very good food, excellent service, and no regrets for every rupee spent.

Room Tip: ask for Temple and Pool View on the First Floor

If you want a hot shower, a very professional staff, a very clean room, very nice food, and a very expensive bill, this is the hotel to be.
Rooms are well set, spa was amazing.
We spent New Year's Eve there, and we unfortuantely paid a mandatory bill of over 300 dollars for two people and the evening was not enjoyable. Even though lots of efforts were made for decoration and the food was very various and tasty, the entertainment was not fitting our culture:
- The dinner took place outside and it was very cold - not enough heaters were put in place. Guest were freezing.
- Music was very loud and we had to wait one hour before getting a drink (only drink included in the mandatory 300 dollars dinner)
- We were "requested" to come dancing at least 10 times before we ate and during dinner. People felt uncomfortable and did not go dancing.
- However, local dances were great, staff was very committed and DJ was very good.
I have shared my feedback during the evening, but it was not taken into consideration. Most of the European people left before 11 pm.
The WIFI is outrageously expensive.

Room Tip: Ask not to have a room in the main hallway between the reception and the restaurant.

We stayed in this hotel on Xmas day, they had prepared this amazing Xmas party for the guests, with buffet, drinks, beautiful Xmas decorations and 2 performers of flute and traditional folk dance.

Service was great, they were eager to make you feel welcome and special.

Rooms are big and comfortable, but a little cold.

The only attribute that is property has which is favorable is its proximity to the Western Temple complex. That is not much of an attribute since all of the other hotels are within five minutes drive.

Here is that we did not like.

Internet is 750 Rupees + tax for 24 hours. That is more than the most expensive truly five star hotel - Oberoi - and only only you to connect one device. All other properties were free or allowed multiple devices to be connected.

The food was horrible. Unfortunately my family favors western food which is not the strength of this property. A pizza came very quickly via room service but was cold - probably microwaved and bore no resemblance to a pizza. Cheese melted on some sliced tomatoes. At the restaurant the "Crispy Chicken" was described as chicken in a batter of coriander and ginger - instead - chicken strips in barbecue sauce - no vegetables - no starches. Other dishes were equally bad or mis-described.

At dinner the restaurant was EXTREMELY noise with a disco next door - operated by the hotel - blaring music that made the building shake. Breakfast featured loud recorded Indian music and a television set to an Indian channel.

Since our flight was delayed we asked for an extended checkout. You would think with the the hotel being hardly occupied that this would not be a problem. Wrong. You must settle your bill by 1200 and check-out.

I have stayed here twice and it was a repeat of my first visit. Stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Do not pay for a view of the temples.

Spent 25th Dec there. There was mandatory gala dinner. The dinner ws outdoors in near freezing weather. Since I had good breakfast and decent lunch I knew the kitchen was capable of cooking good food. For the Gala dinner they opted to make countless dishes, many western, which the staff couldnt handle .the rooms were good but no heat, Staff was polite and helpful.

A modern, very comfortable, decorated with good taste and very well runned hotel. I doubt there would be a better choice in Khajuraho, and it compares with any top hotel anywhere. The restaurant is very good, the facilities are great and includes a large well kept pool within a peaceful garden. service is great. The main gropu of temples is minutes away by walking. To the others a short drive will be necessary, but trasnport is not at all complicated. The town itself is not close, but neither very interesting.

Room Tip: rooms are all great
