Our two night stay here finished off our merry 3 week jaunt around India. So you can imagine our delight with a hotel where all the comforts were in alignment - cleanliness, bathrooms, bedding, gardens, dining areas all excelled, as well as the proximity to the fabulous western group of temples. The dining staff were friendly albeit a little too zealous in seeking constant approval, in contrast to the robotic detachment of the front desk. I resented paying dearly for wifi - and the their refusal to accept Australian dollars was annoying ... we ended up getting an excellent exchange rate from a humble stall down the street, for heaven's sake. A hotel of this calibre should be aware of all Khajuraho has on offer at all times - as it was we happened to stumble on two excellent folk dance performances away from the venue on both evenings by asking people on the street. The gardens are a joy to behold but it surprised us that the pool was glacial, why is it not solar heated? The dining area is very large ... perhaps too large, and the wall mounted TV is completely inappropriate. The hotel, for all its luxury, lacks atmosphere and we found ourselves musing that we must be the only two people left on the planet!
Would I stay there again? Yes - it's a stones throw from the main group of temples and the short walks there morning and afternoon were a constant source of amusement, rather than relying on drivers who want to make you fell guilty about their apparently miserable lives.
