Description: For over 30 years, folks have been stepping back into the legendary era of the Great American Cowboy at the Flying J Ranch. We invite you to experience an evening of great chuck wagon cooking and western music much like cowboys would have enjoyed after a long day on the trail. Enjoy the Western Village, complete with gift shops, pony rides for kids, tipi, and even a gunfight before supper. All this followed up with a fantastic and fun Western Music Stage show featuring the Flying J Wranglers.

I remember coming here as a kid and having a great time. It has been updated and improved since I was a kid and we had a great time.

Made reservations online and there was a slight hick-up at the ticket booth but it was handled quickly and professionally. I would recommend printing out your payment stub just in case.

The show was fantastic and the food was great. My kids loved it from the free gold panning, to the $2 pony rides. There is a lot to do and we had a great time from the first gunshot to the last song. I highly recommend!

Yes this is one of those family touristy things you just gotta do. I wasn't really all that excited to go, but I will go back every time we are in town. The little western town is cute and little kids can become deputies. Bigger kids can practice target shooting and Mom and Dad, well can just be parents. The shoot out prior to dinner is a little corny, but still lots of laughs and the kids love it. The dining hall is large and will remind you of going to camp, but that whats great about it. You'll meet people of all ages and backrounds. The food is good, the biscuts are great as is the apple sauce and they stronly encourgae seconds, thirds, etc. Spend the $2.50 more for after dinner ice cream during the show. It's the best and I owned an Ice Cream Parlor. If you don't like country western music, don't worry, its not country, its cowboy music (remember the old John Wayne Movies). The talent is awesome and don't forget these are the nice folks that just a few minutes ago served you coffee or tea. The owner and his wife, both the stars of the show and chief cook and bottle washers are ever present and are just plain wonderful. 5 stars is not enough for this great family fun night out. We can't wait to go back.

The Flying J Ranch was a great time from start to finish. Their location is easy to find, the activities and shops are well thought out, every single staff member we met was friendly and helpful, the food is beyond delicious (and they let you have seconds!!), and the performers are talented and well- rehearsed. We enjoyed that the whole experience was a clean, down- home, relaxing trip.

Flying J is not just a restaurant. You are treated to activities (gold panning, pistol shooting, pony rides, etc.), a funny gunfight show, good food, and a western-style revue. My whole family (incl. 5 and 11 year olds) had fun. I was very impressed with how efficiently they fed over 400 people. The food was good. The entertaintment was wonderful and had a lot of heart. It's a very family-oriented place run by a close-knit family. You should definitely go if you're in the area. It's just a little north of Ruidoso, right past Ski Apache.
