the tandoori items were realy good, but they used oil previously used to fry fish for making chicken fry. That was really bad. But view from top of the restaurant is awesome. I enjoyed hours looking to the arabian see both in evening as wel as in night. The lights come from the fishermens boats in night is very romantic.

We ate breakfast here each morning during our stay in Varkala. The staff were so kind & welcoming & the views from the top floor were incredible, overlooking the Arabian Sea. We had a wonderful breakfast consisting of fresh fruits, eggs, toast & jam plus tea or coffee for the cost of 100 Rupees. Wonderful value.

We tried both Indian and Italian here and both were excellent. The pizzas are first class and made to order, and well worth the wait! The ambience is unique, and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. Despite our resolve to try different eating places, the food and atmosphere were so good here that we kept going back.Would highly recommend Caffe Italiano on all counts.

The bookshelf and the cobwebs attracted us to this lowlit place. The ambiance is definitely on of the best around.
Beer is served in a teapot and a huge porcelain tea mug. The seafood in tandoor that we ordered was well marinated and tasted good. Though very expensive for a seaside Cafe, the fish was well cooked. The cocktails that we ordered were good.
The turn off here was the main course. Being italian, we ordered for pasta in white sauce. The pasta we ordered was really bad. It was dry and was hardly any sauce in it. there were no garnishing, no herbs and absolutely no taste of white sauce. The pizza was hard and the dough was overbaked.
Not a very great experience.

I had tried Italian food in few other restaurants in the cliff but all ended up in disappointments, finally I was delighted once I experienced the taste in cafe italiano. WONDERFUL! and offcource the restaurant looked spotty and had a great Italia feel around. Its worth if you would really wanted to enjoy a pleasant evening followed by a full course dinner. Lovely! should try!
