“what to expect at the temple”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

The temple was on the tourist map for a long time, still it held on to the calm and serene ambiance. All this changed after the declaration of treasure in the temple vaults. Now the tourist coming in have increased hundred fold which destroyed the serene and calm ambiance. visiting the temple is very rewarding. The timing will be different depending on your purpose. If you are visiting the temple for pure spiritual reasons be at the temple at 3 to 4am. One can pray in peace. If your purpose is to tick off a famous landmark from your travel list and to see the architecture and grandeur of the temple structure, visit in sound hours morning, afternoon or evening. During the afternoon period you cant see the idol of lord Vishnu. only Hindus are allowed. No one can wear pants, salwar bottoms or modern cloths. Women can wear saree, half saree, or silk frocks ( traditional ). Men can wear dhottis. Men cant wear shirts so please bring a cloth to cover the torso if u want. No electronic gadgets are allowed so keep them in the vehicle or hotel. Dhottis are available for rent at the temple premises. There is also a cloak room. If by chance women come with salwar pants. they are allowed to enter only if they wear a dhotti below the salwar top.rents for dhotis are a bit inflated. bring your own when ever possible. Dont try to smuggle in phones or camera. You will be frisked thoroughly by armed guards with semi automatics before entering

“Amazing Temple! Must Visit”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

I was amazed to see this gigantic temple. Beautifully built, very well maintained. I had to go for special seva ticket to avoid standing in Q, still you have to be in special seva Q. so not much of difference in a normal day. Certainly a must visit place.

“Beautiful Temple”
Reviewed March 13, 2014

We just saw the temple from outside as you have to dress in a particular attire (Lungi for men) to enter it. The temple is beautifully made and is regarded as the richest temple in the world. The market area near the temple is a bit disappointing due to lack of cleanliness but the temple's beauty clearly overwrites all the flaws around it!
