“simply royal”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

Nothing compared to the rich and glamourous palaces that you find in other States of India. The simple and intricate wood work is amazing, the most astonishing is the floor it shines like a mirror..not the regal marble/granite you find in other palaces., it is made up of a mixture of egg white sand and some one or two other ingredients ..but never seen a glazing floor anywhere.Loved the small windows through which the royal ladies used to watch the darbars and various other art performances .

“Amazing wooden Palace”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

It is the only completely wooden Palace we have ever seen in our whole life. Their guides do a great service for free, by explaining the uses of different halls and meeting rooms and about the structural beauty of the Palace.
The Kerala govt which manages the property should invest more there for regular maintenance and upkeep and making it more tourist friendly.

“Awesome History”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Must view place, very big palace. Some areas of the palace have been shut down and they are up in for maintenance. The palace is very silent and kept clean. If you touch the walls you could see how cold they are, our hands will feel the coldness of the walls, there are dancing halls, and different kinds of furniture which was used by the Kings.
