Kerala's pride Ravi varma's paintings are housed here.and many other artists of his period, his linage are also in display.but in the name of restoration, many oils have been retouched, which seems bizzare.

The art gallery is located within the grounds of the museum and has some nice collections made by Raja Ravi Varma one of the most famous painters in the princely state of travancore (1848-1906). It is small but houses some good paintings and you can buy paper prints of selected paintings on site .

Another must see destination when visiting Trivandrum - the Sri Chitra Art Gallery has a wonderful collection of the paintings by Raja Ravi Varma and other members of the Royal Family of Travancore. Having seen the Mona Lisa in the Louvre in Paris, the original paintings of Ravi Varma brought the same excitement in my heart!! Not to be missed at any cost!

I wanted to see this gallery to enjoy Raja Ravi Verma's Paintings.

Unfortunately, carpenters were working there and they told us that the gallery is closed for two months.

Disappointed..!!
