Palmleaves Beach Resort
Reviewed March 13, 2013

The room is spacious but the bed is old. The food is tasty but no choices .There is no room service, no telephone, no near by restaurant .There is lots and lots of mosquitoes comes to visit you only at night. You can get the internet signal only in their restaurant area. The manager, the waiter, etc are one and only person who takes care of all your needs. At times there is current failure also.
The beach is very near and they also have a swimming pool . you can,t get any view of the beach from room since coconut trees hiding them.
The things you can do here sleep, playing in beach and swimming. The house(resort) is away from city life and silents in the air .IT IS NOT JUST LIKE HOME ,IT IS A HOME .

Room Tip: The room in the ground floor facing the pool.

On the outskirts of Trivandrum, Palmleaves provides a peaceful oceanfront escape from the city's noise and hurry. The owner has a wonderful demeanor and imparts that good vibe to the whole establishment. The pool is brand new (completed this winter) and is set between the rooms and the sandy beach, nestled between towering palms (carefully trimmed to keep guests safe from falling coconuts). There is also a new baby pool that is perfect for young children. The hotel itself is either brand-new or remodelled. The very best rooms are the ones at the end that have full views of the ocean from inside the room as well as on the balconies. Other rooms have views from the balconies, but not as good from inside the rooms.

i went there with family 3 nights in December 2012, the rooms are good,
booked through clear trip.com they were friendly
The hotel is going through renovation, so during the day one will hear a lot of hammering and drilling
Also google maps is almost correct on the postion of the hotel, there is no sign board so call them before u get there
Food service is very poor, minimum time after ordering 2 hours, and it costs Rs 1000 per person for any meal
they do not know how to cook chicken, mutton, more for fish eaters. and that too u need to tell them what u want the previous day otherwise you will have to go by whatever they have.
there is no other hotels in 15 kms radius, u need your own car otherwise u are pretty much stuck, out side public transport is close to zero..

The positives are: got a amazing pool and the beach is right in front of u..
A/c rooms are relatively cheap neat and clean, even the bathrooms were pretty good for a stand alone property..only food is the issue, had a 3 yr old boy with me.. tough when child is hungry u have nothing to feed....

overall good place food needs to improve

Room Tip: get the rooms next to the restaurant

I went to Kerala on a leisure trip including 4 destinations and decided to stay at Palmleaves Beach Resort as it was close to my relative’s place.Tour operator , Antilog Vacations , is considered very good fr kerala & they provided us a good tour bt I guess I shudn’t hv changed the stay from their recommended resort to Plamleaves

The hotel was undergoing some renovation and I was assured that it will not disturb me in anyway. But it was highly disturbing as there was a lot of noise during the day. Fortunately, I had to stay out for sightseeing during the main day hours. So it was workable except the one off day when I was at my room full day.

The room was comfortable but a bit tacky. The bed was small but comfortable with a squishy mattress. The bathroom was fine. The essential toiletry was present. The TV was working fine but the channel variety was very less. Everything else workable except for the fact that there was no intercom in the room due to which I had to go to the reception every time I wished to have something. The housekeeping man Ramesh was very helpful and considerate.

The small balcony gave views of the beach which was a nice thing. The fishing activities could be seen as the fishers pulled the vast net from the sea.

I was eager to have an Ayurvedic massage being in Kerela. As I asked them for it, they sent me to a community doctor who gave a pretty good relaxing experience of a massage. I loved the massage and will like the next time I come to Kerela that the hotel has a massage centre.
The food was limited variety but homely so I compromised on my taste to an extent but that is how the trip worked out.

Once the construction work is done, I hope the hotel will be good as per the standards.

Well, so sad that my first review is a negative one but people need to know that this place is not good.

We came to stay 5 nights but only lasted 3 then we had enough... Below average (in india!!) in cleanliness.. We tried to have a regular conversation with the management but they were SO patronizing :-(

We are so disapointed, this was proberly the worst stay on our journey....

Well, i'll keep rating our hotels. Thanks

I have a special liking for this place mainly due to the fact its very near to my old college and has got this serene, peaceful atmosphere and excellant food. Visited this place twice and would recommend for a cool get away from an every day busy life....
