As you enter the property you are greeted with two turkeys, one black & one white, who have a peculiar cackle like two humans laughing. Set in 5 acres, the suite is uniquely designed for maximum feeling of space, nice views of greenery and above all calmness.
Plenty of lawns, a pool, hammock, swing keep the family busy. The breakfast spread is sumptuous but the dinner buffet needs more careful planning however for a harmonious combination. The salad bar had plain veggies, the chef could have done much more.

Overall, a great base to explore Thekkady & Periyar from.

Room Tip: The suite/rooms away from reception are private, overlooking the pool.

One word to say about this place is Fantabulous. One of the greatest places to stay we have ever visited.
We wanted to book this resort for 2 nights but unfortunately we got only 1 day booking. I had heard about this resort from one of my relatives. I found this place better than their words. At first their welcome was fabulous. Then one the the lady receptionist took us to the room. While on the way she described almost everything about the place and the activities to take place during the whole day. This place was managed like a small village with 5 star amenities. The room was perfectly maintained and clean. Location of the room was very good and peaceful. After taking rest for 2 hrs, we started to take a look around a resort. Various spice plantation was done. Various activities like resort tour and cultural programs were organised by the resort people. Several indoor sports were there in recreation centre. They have also kept some pets in a separate area. The food was delicious. If you are looking for the best place to stay, it is definitely Greenwoods.

Room Tip: Every room has its own uniqness.

I must confess here that it was a truly memorable and enjoyable stay for all of us friends from the Round Table India Area 1 group. The nature abundant ambience, spacious and well designed rooms, the sumptuous food served, the wonderful hospitality of everyone, from the people who welcomed us with a garland to the people in the reception and all the people in the F & B who served us food and was par excellence and needs to be deeply appreciated.

All the staff were extremely polite and well groomed and well behaved. They were extremely patient with us and took good care of all our needs. I would rate the staff hospitality as the best amongst the properties that I have visited so far. I strongly recommend this property.

Great welcome, Nice and clean rooms, good variety of food - local, Indian and international.
The staff was a perfect example of good customer service. A number of activities were lined up in the evening to keep the guests busy which gave a good Kerala experience. There was Kerala style cooking, how to wear a lungi and sari, dances by locals.

Just one word to sum up my experience there - AWESOME

I chose this resort after reading reviews on TA and it perfectly matched the best reviews and also my expectations! The resort is set amidst a lot of tall trees and is very scenic. We stayed here only for a night and my family wished that we could extend our stay given the high level of hospitality, friendly staff, picturesque setting, and overall cleanliness in the resort. We had taken 2 Aranya rooms. The hospitality started right from the entrance when we were welcomed with a garland of cardamom, a sandalwood tilak, and a refreshing medicinal coffee. All this lifted everyone's spirits, which had tanked down cos we did not get the tickets to Periyar reserve boat ride.

Their massage center is also worth the money. The best part was that the spa center is in the same building and after taking the spa, we simply walked to our rooms in a towel! I highly recommend one to opt for a full body massage with steam. It was so good that I almost slept while sitting in the steam chamber.

The food was amazing and offered a few exotic dishes as well. The live dosa counter was also good.

The swimming pool was clean but given the weather, the water was very cold. I started shivering the moment dived in. It is set near the restaurant and the only way to reach there is through the restaurant. We had to go there fully clothed and slip into your swimwear in the changing room and after we were done, had to dress up again and walk to your room. This could be improved by giving a separate, independent way to the pool. Their recreation area also is good, they have 2 huge swings hanging from tree branches and we enjoyed taking long swings there. Their cafe, called Ambari, set atop a tree is a great place to chill.

To add to the splendor, we were greeted by the evening rains and the entire resort was covered in thick fog. Overall, the best part of our entire Kerala trip!
