“Vagamon...”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Vagamon is a cool place...The main attraction is the hillocks and pine forests...can walk up to top of hillock and can enjoy view from the top...will get a nice drive from thodupuzha to vagamon via kanjar..iyou can take many pit stops and take nice snaps...On d way u vl find sign board towards ilaveezhapoonchira vch is a very good place to watch sunrise and sunset..but there has been occurence of deaths by lightening in this place..so ask the locals whether it is safe to go up there...if you are looking for an economical accomodation you can go to Padmalayam which is around 2-3 kms from vagamon centre....They charged us around Rs 3000 for 3 rooms...you vl get many tasty home made chocolates in vagamon...you can carry hot drinks wid you as you may not find any wine shop there...you can end the trip after a visit to parunthumpara ( 30 kms from vagamon ) and if u can go up to the edge of the rock, you can get a mountain dew 'dar ke aage jeet hai ' feeling...

100 kms from cochin through some of the most scenic routes , rolling grasslands, small waterfalls , breathtaking views all around . take the uncharted yet very nicely done road from thodupuzha - kanjar road 25kms of sheer bliss . once you reach vagamon its a typical quaint hill station about 1200mts above sealevel . make sure you do a few offtrack destinations offroading et all

“Vagamon- The heaven of Grassy Meadows”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

Vagamon is a hill station located in Kottayam-Idukki border of Kottayam district of Kerala.
A beautiful location without much crowd and lots of locations to see around.
If you like trekking and never mind of hiking and walking hit Vagamon, it'll definitely thrill you.
Must see locations are Vagamon Meadows, Pine Forest, Kurishumala, Thangal para and never miss the suicide point .

Don't expect a well organized tourist attraction, it is still in the early phases. Would struggle to find the locations which have no sign boards. The locals are helpful to find the locations. Hotels are fine, but difficult find quality food. Definitely not a shoppers dream and naturist's paradise :)

Vagamon is a perfect family location for a picnic. There is pine forest and a hotel nearby to have food. There are two view points at a walkable distance of 2 kms.
