Owner description: The Backwaters of Kerala is unique and is found nowhere else in the world. Backwaters are a network of lakes, canals and estuaries and deltas of forty-four rivers that drain into the Arabian Sea. The backwaters of Kerala are a self supporting eco-system teeming with life. The most exciting aspect of Kuttanadu is the Kettuvallam (traditional Houseboat) which has become the most popular tourism product in India today.

Having originally planned to use another tour company which later discontinued their Kerala tour, I came across Eco Trails through Trip Advisor.

I immediately e-mailed Kence to find out more information and his prompt responses were very helpful and professional. I visited Kochi, the Houseboats, Thekkady and Munnar.

The houseboat cruise and the tour itself was very good and I thought some of accomodation, namely Aranyaka in Munnar, was stunning and about a quarter of the price of what you would pay at home.

The driver I had for the week was knowledge and helpful and was able to find a few elephants in the wild to take photographs of. He recommended places along the way to stop off and look at and knew a wide variety of places to see and activities to partake in.

We enjoyed luxury accommodation and fabulous food both on the house boat for 2 nights and at the Alleppy villa. Kence was quick to respond to emails making organising our stay easy. The staff at each were very friendly and provided a great level of service. We loved our Christmas morning canoe ride from the villa which Prakash seemed to, like everything else arrange with ease including the delicious food. Our taxi arrangements didn't quite go to plan but Kence resolved the problems quickly and efficiently. We felt well looked after and very impressed with the standard provided at the two locations arranged with Kence and Eco tours.

Kence is a great organiser, he arranges houseboat and backwater cruises, heritage hotels, accommodation in exclusive, luxury villa's at fabulous locations ie on the lakeside, by the river, at the hill stations. Sometimes with personal cooks who will demonstrate how to prepare the meals. He provides competent drivers with comfortable cars to take you everywhere. Also arranges massages etc. Whatever you are looking for as a tour package, he does his best to provide you with a wonderful, individual experience.

Wow what an enjoyable experience. Relaxation and good food (bordering on too much) with a superb crew who could not do enough for us on a very well appointed houseboat. Thanks especially to Kence Georgey for setting everything up so well. Went just after Christmas so not cheap but it was worth it.

We had a great experience with Eco Tour Kerala and Kence Georgey. Excellent food, great service, high quality boats and marvellous nature. We spoke with Kence afterwards, and support him in his and others urge to make the Backwaters better environmentally aware. For a western European, the way surplus garbage is handled in India is appalling, and must of course be improved in the future to meet tourist´s both increased number and demand´s on enviromental awareness.
