We were welcomed with amazing hospitality from the moment we stepped out of the cab by Neema and Prasad. Their lovingly maintained heritage home had such character and was so comfortable, and a delight and honour to stay in. Neema's amazing cooking, her thoughtful suggestions of where to go and how to get there as well as her sincere desire to make this a memorable trip for us was truly appreciated by my daughter and I. I can't think of a better way to begin our travels. While we are sad to depart tomorrow,we are thrilled we get to spend one more day here before flying home in 2 weeks.
We would return here in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Both rooms here are lovley.

Neema and Prasad are very welcoming and beautifuls hosts.
Travelling the world themselves for many years they are now welcoming the world to their home. We arrived very late the first night and they stayed up to welcome us and made us feel welcome.
The room is very nice and even have a A/C (which you don't need, the fans are doing the job)
The position is very good ( short walk to ferry to Chochin). No worries, you can't get lost with clear direction and advise from Neema.
The food is outstanding and thank you very much for putting up with the special diet requirements from my husband ( I hope you have some butter left in your household :-))
Neema and Prasad are happy to share their knowledge and experience and are also interested in your life.
All in all we can only highly and will recommend The Bungalow if you are after experience Kerala first hand.

What more could you want!! Wonderfull hosts, exceptional food and a beautiful house. Neema and Prasad make you feel so at ease and at home in The Bungalow. With a great warm welcome it was so good to be guided with working out the best way to see the sites from the wonderfull Mattancherry and Fort Cochin areas a short and easy ferry ride away to the Folklore Museum (being visited by Prince Charles next week). Not to be missed the Kathakali Cultural show and a cup of tea in the Teapot cafe. Neema's food is soooooo tasty especially the spicy doughnuts for breakfast and do have an evening meal with them. The house is spotless, beds comfy and lovely hot showers. A homestay never to be forgotten do make sure it's on your itinery.

Room Tip: We stayed in Sao Gabriel lovely en suite and great A/C

Neema and Prasad are warm and welcoming hosts who are keen to ensure their guests have the very best experience of family life and their city. They have a beautiful home treasured through 5 generations, full of history and interest. We enjoyed comfortable beds, clean spacious bathroom and wonderful food! Neema is an accomplished cook, her food is delicious and she happily enlightens guests with her knowledge of ingredients and recipes. They have a wealth of knowledge to pass on to guests for making the most of of Kochi from ferries, shopping, places to see and so on. Having travelled extensively themselves we found them to be engaging hosts. Interestingly we were their first guests from Scotland! Highly recommended, wonderful people, wonderful stay.

The bungalow is a unique place to stay. Neema and her family have made us very welcome in their beautiful home which is full of history and they have given us an interesting insight into Indian tradition and Kochi. They have also given us very good help and advice for making the best of our short time here. Neema is a wonderful cook. The house is spotlessly clean and full of interesting artefacts. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Kochi who wants tradition and comfort.

We just arrived in Cochin yesterday. We are visiting India for 2 months. Kerala is like an entirely different country from Rajastan and northern India. I feel like we landed on a tropical island in the Caribbean. It is so clean, although you don't lose the flavor of India. . For us, The Bungalow is a perfect location. Approximately 1 block away is access to the ferry system that takes you to various places around Kochi, which is perfect because Kochi is really made up of 5 islands and ferries are the best way to go. We couldn't have found a better place. Neema and her husband were a wealth of knowledge and knew the answers to our many travel questions. Since this is our first trip to India we had a lot of concern about safety, tourists traps, etc. It's a good idea to get as much info as possible prior to getting there because it can truly get hectic once you land.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Sao Gabriel room. Very roomy, clean and extremely conmfortable. Also a tremendou...

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for three nights at the beginning of October. We arrived to a warm welcome from Neema and her family, and their hospitality was like nothing I had experienced before. From the food, to the room this was an excellent home stay. If you are looking for local knowledge and assistance this is definitely the place to come. Neema and Prasad helped us plan our whole 2 week trip helping us book accommodation aswell as transport which isn't as easy as we first imagined! We would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Kerala. Although not in fort kochi it's a 2 minute boat ride away costing a grand total of 2p! In summary great place, great host, great price - we couldn't of asked for more!
