This hotel is practically perfect. The garden with pool is lovely during the day and magically lit at night. Our room was spacious, spotless, comfortable and atmospheric. The scent of lemon grass whenever we went into our room combined with the air conditioning made it a welcome haven from the bustle of the town outside. The staff were so helpful and attentive and very friendly. We had to leave at 5.45am on our last day and the chef was brought in early specially to make us a packed breakfast, but had also made us fresh juice and fruit and then rushed off to make us perfect poached eggs. This place is hard to fault.

Room Tip: We stayed in the cheapest standard of room (Napier), which was extremely comfortable but had a view...

What a bedroom - a large, nay, spacious room with an oversided shower room in beautiful tiles. The balcony overlooks the garden restaurant with the pool in the background. A good setting? Oh yes. The restaurant is set out mainly in the garden and is open to the public who on the night we were there flocked in, both local people and visitors. So many that the service was a little stretched, but the food was good, especially the fish. For those who have not sampled Indian wine, choose carefully, especially among the reds, and you will find a quaffable bottle or two, the white is a little on the thin side.
The staff match the quality of the building and its style. Very 'colonial' in the best sense - attention to detail and pleasant to exhange both news and opinions. The location is near the fishermen, a sight not to be missed and among enterprising shops and restaurants, which our short time precluded us from trying. All in all a different experience from English hotels, but a good experience nonetheless. Enjoy and relax at the Old Harbour

Room Tip: There are only thirteen rooms, so book early, and try to get the Tower Room for is view and its supe...

The Old Harbour hotel in Cochin is a gem... I work for a luxury hotel chain and I could only wish the Old Harbour was one of our hotels. Everything is perfect, the staff attentive, knowledgeable and extremely friendly.
If you have, like me, the priviledge of staying in the Bastion Suite, you will never want to leave. The food in the restaurant is inexpensive and the setting is like an oasis of calm in the busiest part of old Cochin. Do try the masala dosa for breakfast, it is spectacular!
Congratulations on running an amazing hotel that feels like home.

Room Tip: The Bastion Suite is taken straight from a movie set...

So beautiful. Bedrooms romantic and full of character. Large and refreshing pool. The best atmosphere of any of the hotels we stayed in for our month in South India. A really winning mix is found here. The outside restaurant in the garden is such a treat in the evening as well. The food is really good and inexpensive and the classical musicians really complete the experience of truly incredible India. The staff are charming, urbane and happy in their work which makes for a relaxed but professional service. They are nice because they're happy and enjoy working here. We had the hotel driver with his 1952 restored ambassador take us to the airport. Great driver and a real character. It was a special birthday for me when I stayed and they went to great lengths to make it really special. Thank you guys. We will be back

Room Tip: Ours was a lovely cottage in the garden but I bet they're all gorgeous and rich in character. Th...

I stayed two nights at the Old Harbour in early Feb and it was absolutely fantastic.

The place is stunning with tons of attention to detail. Beautifully decorated and laid out, both in public areas and my room. The staff are so helpful and friendly - they really bend over backwards for guests. It's in a great location for walking around Cochin as well.

All around, one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in - I'd highly recommend it.

We stayed in the Tea Bungalow and wished we had made it the Old Harbour Hotel. fortunately we did have an evening meal and drinks there in the fine walled gardens. Inevitably if sitting outside in the evening in India there will be mozzies - the staff kindly provided repellent immediately on request. Service, ambience, and food all excellent. They even had the band stop for our table when we made our goodbye speeches to one another - it being the end of our ten person trip. We never return to any place we have been - but if you are going to Cochin - book the Old Harbour Hotel - you will be charmed by the hospitality and ambience.

Room Tip: Book early - room overlooking the rear gardens.

We stayed here for four nights in a suite with a pool view. The room was amazing, very spacious with an open air bathroom. The room was scented twice a day with a wonderful orange fragrance. The food and wine is quite pricey for India, but very nice. The location of the hotel is in a great spot for exploring. We will definitely return one day.
