We where booked by our travel agent in India, Mr. Venkatesh from the Travel Planetindia.com who deserves another write-up on its own.
Mr. Venkatesh did our total booking for our 20 nights& 21 days trip to Goah and Kerala Nature & Culture Tour to our total satisfaction and without a hitch and accommodation way above our expectations, of which the Hotel Arches was one. A very charming and well run Hotel in a great location and close proximity to all attractions and good restaurants.
The staff and all the people we came in contact with running the Hotel are very professional and very accommodating. We have nothing but High praise for this Hotel.

This small hotel (12 rooms) is a delight. The rooms are very comfortable with good WiFi access and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in the old part of Cochin and within easy walking distance of the famous fishing nets and street markets. We really enjoyed our stay there.

I stayed at the Hotel Arches for a week during a visit to India for a friend's wedding. The staff from the moment I arrived until I left were attentive and friendly. One of the managers even helped me put on a dhoti (traditional Keralan clothing) for one of the wedding celebrations! Food was great (although, like a lot of places in Kochi, the restaurant did not serve alcohol), rooms were spacious and clean. My only gripe was if I returned late at night I had to wake up some of the staff. I found this a bit embarrassing but the staff didn't seem to mind so it wasn't really a big issue. Overall highly recommended.

This was our first evert stay in India, We arrived, very tired at around midnight and I said to the man who let us in 'Thanks for waiting for us, I hope we didn't keep you up', to which I recieved a grunt in return.
Nice way to welcome us to India!
Anyway we were taken up to our room, whch was fine. A little on the dirty side but so were most places we stayed in India.
We were woken up earlyish by stray dogs outside our room fighting, but as we came to experience this is quite normal in any city in India.
The highlight of our short stay here was breakfast, which is served on the rooftop with lovely surrounds. The breakfast was fresh and tasty and the staff there wre polite.
If the man on check in/out duty was friendlier I would have considered recommending this hotel to others.

We stayed at this hotel for one night but the manager made sure our stay would be memorable! He greeted us as soon as we got off the taxi, sensed that we were tired and kindly asked us to take a rest before going downstairs to have dinner at their restaurant. Their welcoming drink ( coconut water) was truly appreciated.

The restaurant staff were also very kind, in the morning they took really good care of us and made us delicious breakfast ( No buffet) and that's a plus because you get freshly cooked ingredients!

The manager also arranged a taxi for us the next day for our next destination and check out and all was done very professionally and efficiently.

We sincerely recommend this hotel to anyone! So rarely you find warm and caring staff like this.

I stayed in the hotel with my wife for 6 nights in the only suite of the hotel. Naturally the suite was more expensive but money was well spent, as it was spacious and well equipped. The hotel only has 11 rooms, although it looks bigger. Breakfast is served on the terrace. Thick pineapple juice every morning is not my preference and you will get a bland continental breakfast, unless you order an Indian one the day before. The terrace doubles as a restaurant and the food is OK, if nothing spectacular. The owner is very helpful but not pushy at all.

Location is perfect, on a quiet street but near the beach and sights.

Room Tip: I would choose the suite again.

We booked on-line,and it took us a good hour to get to Fort Cochin. What a pleasant surprise it was to get to our hotel and find a clean and hospitable place to enjoy our vacation. The washrooms are cleaner than any I've seen in India. Its a great location to wake up and take a walk on the beach. Go out and watch the fish auction in the mornings.
