The residual of an almost vanished culture. This place is a remnant of a formerly vibrant community that existed for 1000 plus years in Cochi.

The interiors of this place are quite beautiful, with lovely tile work. But be aware, that it is not open on Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays.

The place around synagogue is good for shoppers with different types of things available, one must bargain to get the rates correct, the say the items with high price initially.

The synagogue is definitely worth a visit if you are in Kochi. It is in the Matancheri area and area around it is a joy in itself. The ambience is great. The synangogue is very old and serene.

Great synagogue, really fascinating, the floor tiles are really fascinating. Reading the info on the wall gives a fascinating insight into the travels of the Israelites. Go early or round 12.45, before they close for lunch...quieter.
