It's a small museum of religious artifacts and maps on Kerala of the colonial Portuguese period.
Located in the complex of the Bishop's Residence, it is a newly constructed structure.
It mainly displays relics and sacred objects from the colonial churches of Fort Cochin and nearby areas.

It wouldn't interest those who have already visited museums in Goa that have more Portuguese antiques.

This is a very small museum but has some interesting exhibits. The restored original Altar piece of St. Francis Church Fort Kochi, the very detailed map of Travancore by James Horsburgh, various Monstrance, etc. The museum curator, Joseph, is a very enthusiastic and friendly person who was obliging enough to tell us the importance of many artifacts.

A simple small museum but very much to the point. The curator is a wonderful guy who was full of enthusiasm for his exhibits and so informative, he was a delight. It will only take a short while to see, well worth it.

There was three highlights of this museum. 1. The exuberant staff member Joseph who happily told me about the unique and beautiful items. 2. A large pale amethyst cross necklace that glitters rainbow in the sun. 3. A traditional keralan door lock (manichitrathal) that represents all the religious believes in the area.
Worth a visit. A much needed break from the stalls outside!

If you happen to visit fort in cochin, do not miss this Museum which is Packed with lot of information about origin of Kochi, Wall Mural Paintings and Antiques.
After the visit which wil enrich you with historical information, visit the market which is pleasant walk even if you do buy anything.

Couple of shops also have tea bars, Coffee bars and most famous is Ginger tea House.
