“Superb lunch”
Reviewed May 14, 2013 via mobile

Had a really enjoyable cooking demo and chat with Nimmy and her husband, Paul. Lunch that she cooked before my very eyes was absolutely delicious. Fish moilee, jumbo prawn, tomato chutney, cabbage Thoran and appam in half hour flat. Amazing.

“OK - dinner only session”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

this was part of a package. i read one of the other reviews that said it cost usd199 and i would NOT spend that much on what we got. first, we arrived early by mistake of the driver. she was understandably annoyed but perhaps she should not have let the guests know that. and yes, it was only a demonstration. i thought it would be a bit more hands one (we did one in saigon which was GREAT - http://www.saigoncookingclass.com/) especially with a group total of 4 people. oh well.

the food itself was good though, which made up for some of it. however, in our package a glass of wine was included which she told us we had to pay for!?!?!? i did like that she gave us the recipe cards (and they were for the correct meals).

now this bit is purely a personality thing but we found her to be a little arrogant. undoubtedly she has worked hard to get where she is and that is great of which she should be proud. however, most of the time when she spoke at dinner, it was to let us know how hard she works and that the most reputable travel companies work with her. this put us off a little...

“Secrets of real Southern Indian cooking...”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Nimmy showed us how to make great Indian dishes, explaining each step and the benefit of each ingredient. She gave us techniques to adapt the recipes to fish, meat, pork, chicken, and vegetarian styles. Delicious! her husband joined me and a couple from France for a relaxing evening. I have made several of the recipes some I returned home. earn the difference between curry and curry leaves, and Nimmy gave me the secret to removing turmeric from light cared clothes..

“Nimmy Paul's cookery demo Cochin India”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Had a fabulous evening with Nimmy, who did all the cooking and demonstrating the use of all the spices used. Very personable and welcoming. Met her husband and son and enjoyed eating the food cooked, along with two other guests, ladies from the USA.
This was our first evening of our holiday and a great start, enjoying some really fabulous food.
We were encouraged to stand close to the action of cooking and ask any questions. A great evening.

“Not what we expected”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

We went to Nimmy Paul's for a meal and cookery demonstration. The food was excellent but the cookery demonstration was a fiasco. We were given recipes but they were not for the food that was being cooked. Nimmy's contribution to the demonstration was to add some spices to a dish another person did all the cooking! The promised proper recipes never materialised.
