We arrived at Homested (Nov/Dec 2013) after it was recommended to us by another local guest house proprietor. On arrival, we were made to feel very welcome and were shown to a newly renovated room. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. Our room had a balcony, attached bathroom with 24 hr hot water, mosquito nets over the windows and two fans that added to the comfort. There was a storm during our stay and back up power took care of the power cut. During our stay we were treated to a delicious and varied traditional Keralan breakfast which included a side helping of French toast. Dev and his family were most welcoming and helped us to plan our stay, including the booking of tickets to see local performances. Would happily stay again,

Dear Nicolio,
Thanks so much for your valid and sincere review & narrating about the room comfort and the power backup. I feel so happy but very sad that you've not graded the full marks for the VALUE & ROOMS. Many thanks for your review and do refer to your friends & relatives about HOMESTED.

Cheers

We enjoyed a relaxing night here in a spacious and comfortable room. In spite of a thunderstorm the backup power maintained a fan! The balcony provided a comfortable grandstand view of the storm! There was a great breakfast and warm hospitality from Dev and his family. If you're looking for a home stay in Cochin this is a very good option.

We stayed with Dev and his family for a few days in Nov/Dec 2013 and from the outset we were made to feel most welcome. We were in the upper part of the house in a well decorated room (loved the tiles in the bathroom) with good air-conditioning and backup power for the lights and fan to cover power cuts. Dev and his wife made us breakfast and went out of their way to find interesting Indian dishes for us to try. Dev can book trips etc at the same price as available in town. Dev’s house is lovely and spotlessly clean.
Thanks Dev - hope the new lawn is bedding in OK.

This place is so nice and tidy and in a decent location to get to where you need to go. The family and workers are beyond nice and hospitable, everyday with a wonderful local breakfast and fresh juice, tea or coffee. You get hot water and a nice spacious room with or without AC and free wifi. I most definitely recommend this place even if only for one day or one week, you cant go wrong here.

I visited Cochin for 3 days with my friends & stayed in Homested which was perfect place to stay. Dev uncle and his family gave us not only a very professional but also a warmhearted welcome and made our stay memorable in Cochin.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, neat & well kept. As well as bathrooms were clean and tidy. The entire atmosphere at Homested was very pleasant and made us feel homely environment. The breakfast that we had was different every day and it was very tasty & fantastic. I must point out that Pineapple juice was awesome & I thank Dev uncle’s wife for that.

This place is absolutely worth staying, right in the middle of Fort Kochi. The price which Dev uncle had quoted us was very reasonable. I would like to recommend others to stay in Homested, I would surely stay in Homested if I visit Cochin again.

After five weeks of traveling through India, this was easily the best place we came across.
This home stay is run by a very, very, very nice family and their hospitality is great! We were welcomed with tea in the amazing living room of this comfortable and elegant house.
The rooms are by far the most beautiful and roomy ones of our whole trip. The beds are cozy, the bathroom big and well equipped. Also, the room was the cleanest place we found in India.
Every morning we were served a different typical indian breakfast (plus toast and THE best french toast available) with fresh juices, including explanation on what it was and how it is made.
The family kindly helped us with booking activities and our train to Goa, all in all making every travel agency obsolete.
THere`s AC and non AC rooms available and also free WiFi.
Initially we planned to stay for two nights but then made it four, because we just didn`t want to leave this paradise.
If you come to Cochin, we highly recommend you give the Homested a try!!!

We stayed here at Homested for 2 nights and loved it, honestly could not fault the rooms one bit, we have been travelling for 6 weeks across India now and this is by far the cleanest accommodation we have come across. The rooms are spacious and always have hot water which is rare over India, we got the room for a good price, the rooms have air con and fans which ever you prefer. The female manager is most helpful, she helped us plan our days out, advising us of the transport costs and distances. We had our laundry cleaned at Homested and it came back smelling lovely and feeling very clean, the best so far. We arrived very early around 5/6am, the owners were very welcoming and accommodating. I definitely recommend you to stay here, the location is excellent and a lot of the attractions like princess street and Jew town are in walking distance. Lovely restaurants nearby also.
