Review of Princess Street

Princess Street
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Princess street ia a quaint little street located behind the famous Vasco Di Gama Church. The narrow street comprises of old colonial Dutch, Portuguese buildings in which are housed several small restaurants which serve myriad cuisines. A special mention to be made for "Tea Pot' a lovely place for different types of Tea, a delicious breakfast and snacks.Another place of note is "Kashi Art Cafe", very popular for continental food plus boasts an art gallery.

A few small shops to browse down this street. However, the reason I visited was to arranged a driver to take us to Munnar and Wilson Tours had been recommended to us. Very good service - excellent driver - didn't need to keep hitting the imaginary brake pedal for four hours!

I loved wandering through Princess street exploring the shops & restaurants. Lovely old buildings steeped in history.

Not much charm nowadays with all the advertisements but you'll find everything you need as a tourist - hotels, shops, restaurants, ice-cream parlour, souvenirs, internet cafes, money exchange. Good for your evening stroll, however the neighbourhood is more interesting. Watch out for locals asking for a "small favour". Their goal is always to make you buy something.
