Was a very old place filled with artifacts and information about the area and the history of Ft. Kochi. Too me, was very much like a museum, something that is not on the top of my list but if you enjoy going and touring through a museum and reading about history then it was very nice.

You dont get to see the palace... Only museum. You are made to walk thru few rooms which you cant make out what it is?. is it a durbar hall, a royal dining room..
Rather a series of history of Kochi king(s). Yes.. they are very nice to learn about.. But, we go to see a palace there...
We want to know how a palace of 17th century looked and what rooms they had then, what kind of architecture they used, why etc.. You wont get anything of this sort in this visit

The palace has been well maintained as have the artifacts inside. Walking through it gives you a complete sense of the history and grandeur of the kings of the area.
Keep change handy for the entry ticket or be prepared to forgeo it.

Small but really beautiful palace, also known as the Dutch palace. Looks ordinary from outside but great murals on religious themes inside, still retaining their bright colours. Several rooms full of historical artefacts from the royal family, with very detailed and informative signage in English. Photography not allowed inside.

Its also called the Dutch Palace. It has murals depicting the various Rajas of Kochi & other mythological paintings. One would find painitngs of Hindu Gods & demi-gods in rich & vibrant hues. In the palace premise is temple dedicated to Vishnu. This would interest those who have an inclination in mythology/ history / art.
