Beautiful church, with paintings as old as the 18th century. Old pulpit used in 18th century. Tiles and goethic paintings are worth seeing. Lot of statues of saints all over. The only problem, outside lots of rickshaw people and bike persons ready to grab you to take you to shops

Hi, Since you will definitely be making a trip to Fort Kochi , do drop in to see one of the oldest churches therein- THE SANTA CRUZ BASILICA .
The Kochi residents are quite proud of their heritage and will guide u to it, just a stroll down Princess street from the bus stand, and beside the St. Mary's school ( my alma mater )

The church has tall gothic windows , wooden pews , stained glass windows and frescoes on the high vaulted ceilings.

Dont cut it too late ..with so many sights to see.. It closes early and it s preferable that u see the vector/ priest to give u a tour , to drink in its history. And hey, before I forget, there is an authentic Italian eatery right opp the basilica ( not too close to eat into its romance ! ) -they serve a mean lasagne . So start early in the evening and enjoy the glorious history of my beloved Fort Kochi- u will never get tired of the sights, sounds, and smells of this quaint lil' town straight out of a book !
